ମୁଁ ଶଲୋମନର ପରିବାରରୁ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଛଡଇେ ନବେି। କିନ୍ତୁ ମାରେ ସବେକ ଦାଉଦ ନିମନ୍ତେ ୟିଏକି ମାରେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଓ ବିଧି ପାଳନ କଲା। ମୁଁ ଶଲୋମନକୁ ତା'ର ମୃତ୍ଯୁ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଶାସନ କରିବାକୁ ନବେି।

ଯେ ହତେୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପିତା ଦାଉଦଙ୍କୁ ଭଲ ପାଉଥିଲୁ। ତୁମ୍ଭ ଜୀବିତାବସ୍ଥା ରେ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ରାଜ୍ଯ ନବୋ ନାହିଁ। ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭର ପୁତ୍ର ରାଜା ହେଲାପରେ ତାଙ୍କଠାରୁ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଛଡଇେ ନବୋ।

ତତ୍ପରେ ଅହିଯ ୟାରବିଯାମଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ଦଶଖଣ୍ତ ନିଅ, କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହିକଥା କହନ୍ତି, 'ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଶଲୋମନର ହସ୍ତରୁ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଚିରିଦବୋ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦଶ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଦବୋ।

ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଜ୍ଞାନର ନିଗୂଢ଼ ରହସ୍ଯ ବିଷଯ ରେ କହନ୍ତେ ଏବଂ ସେ କହି ପାରନ୍ତେ କିପରି ଗୋଟିଏ ଗପର ଦୁଇଟି ପାଖ ରହିଛି। ଆୟୁବ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶୁଣ, ପରମେଶ୍ବର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦେଉ ନାହାଁନ୍ତି ଯେତିକି ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଦବୋ କଥା।

ଆମ୍ଭେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପାପ କରିଅଛୁ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଦଣ୍ଡ ଦଇେ ନାହାନ୍ତି, ୟାହା ଆମ୍ଭେ ପାଇବା କଥା।

ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରସିଦ୍ଧ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଶୁଣିଛି ଏବଂ ମୁଁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଭୟ ରେ ପରିପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହାଇେଛି। ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ଅତୀତ ରେ ଯେଉଁସବୁ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରିଛ, ସେଥି ରେ ମୁଁ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ୟ୍ଯାନ୍ବିତ। ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ମୁଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଛି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଅନକେ ବଡ କାର୍ୟ୍ଯ କରିବ। ଆମ୍ଭ ସମୟରେ ଏହିସବୁ ଘଟୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଦୟାପୂର୍ବକ କର। ତୁମ୍ଭର ସହେି କୋରଧିତ ଅବସ୍ଥା ରେ ଆମ୍ଭପ୍ରତି ଦୟା କର।
