Nehemiah 5:12
ଏହାପରେ ଧନୀଲୋକମାନେ ଓ ଅଧ୍ଯକ୍ଷମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଏସବୁ ଫରୋଇ ଦବେୁ, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ କିଛି ମାଗିବୁ ନାହିଁ। ଆପଣ ଯେପରି କହୁଛନ୍ତି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସହେିପରି କରିବୁ।

ସିଦିକିଯ ରାଜା ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଏହି ନିଯମ କରିଥିଲେ ଯେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ନିଜ ନିଜ ଏବ୍ରୀଯ ଦାସଦାସୀଙ୍କୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି ବିଦାଯ ଦବେେ। କହେି ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ନିଜ ୟିହୁଦୀଯ ଭ୍ରାତାକୁ ଦାସ୍ଯକର୍ମ କରାଇବେ ନାହିଁ। ସିଦିକିଯ ଏହି ନିଯମ କଲାପ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ଯ ଯିରିମିୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା।

ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ସହିତ ବାଦାନୁବାଦ କଲି ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଅଭିଶାପ ଦଲେି। ସମାନଙ୍କେ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ କେତକଙ୍କେୁ ପ୍ରହାର କଲି। ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଦାଢି ମଧ୍ଯ ଉତ୍ପାଟନ କଲି ଏବଂ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ନାମ ରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରାଇଲି, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆପଣାର କନ୍ଯା ଦିଅନାହିଁ ଏବଂ କିମ୍ବା ଆପଣା ପୁତ୍ର ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ କନ୍ଯା ଗ୍ରହଣ କର ନାହିଁ।

ଆମ୍ଭେ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରୁଅଛୁ, ଆଉ ଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଲୋକମାନେ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ବାର ରେ କୌଣସି ପଦାର୍ଥ କି ଖାଦ୍ୟଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ବିକିବାକୁ ଆଣିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନେେ ବିଶ୍ରାମଦିନ ରେ, କି ଅନ୍ୟ କୌଣସି ପବିତ୍ର ଦିନ ରେ ସମାନଙ୍କେଠାରୁ ତାହା କିଣିବୁ ନାହିଁ। ଆଉ ସପ୍ତମ ବର୍ଷ, ସର୍ବପ୍ରକାର ଋଣ ଆଦାଯ କରିବାର ଛାଡି ଦବେୁ।

ସମାନେେ ହେଲେ, ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟାଂଶ ଯାଜକମାନେ, ଲବେୀୟମାନେ, ଦ୍ବାରପାଳମାନେ, ଗାଯକମାନେ, ନଥୀନୀଯମାନେ ଓ ଯେ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଅନ୍ୟ ସ୍ଥାନ ରେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅଲଗା କଲେ, କାରଣ ସମାନେେ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କର ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା ରଖିପାରିବେ। ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଗଣ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପୁତ୍ରଗଣ ଓ ସମାନଙ୍କେର କନ୍ଯାଗଣ, ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଜ୍ଞାନବାନ ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିମାନ ଲୋକ, ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଭାତୃଗଣ, ସମାନଙ୍କେର କୁଳୀନଗଣ ଏହି ଶପଥ ନବୋ ପାଇଁ ରାଜି ଥିଲେ।
