ତେଣୁ ସେ ମିଶରକୁ ପଳାଇ ୟିବା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ବୈଥଲହେମ୍ ସହର ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଗରେୁତ୍ତ୍ବକିମହମ ରେ କିଛି ସମୟ ଅଟକି ଥିଲେ।

ହୋଶିଯର ପୁତ୍ର ଅସରିଯ, କା ରହରେ ପୁତ୍ର ୟୋହାନନ୍ ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ କେତକେ ଅହଙ୍କାରୀ ଲୋକ କୋର୍ଧାନ୍ବିତ ହାଇେ ଯିରିମିୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମିଥ୍ଯା କଥା କହୁଅଛ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏ କଥା କହି ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇ ନାହାଁନ୍ତି, 'ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ମିଶର ରେ ୟାଇ ପ୍ରବାସ କର ନାହିଁ।'
