Jeremiah 40:2
ସେତବେେଳେ ପ୍ରହରୀବର୍ଗର ସନୋପତି, ଯିରିମିୟଙ୍କୁ କହିଲା, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଏହି ଅମଙ୍ଗଳକର କଥା କହିଥିଲେ।

ତବେେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ଦଇେଅଛୁ, ଆମ୍ଭର ସହେି ଦେଶରୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ବାହାର କରିଦବୋ। ଆଉ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭର ନାମ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପବିତ୍ର କରିଥିବା ଏହି ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରିବା। ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଏପ୍ରକାର କରିବି ଯେ, ସବୁ ଜାତିର ଲୋକମାନେ ଏହାକୁ ତାଚ୍ଛଲ୍ଯ କରିବେ।

ପଥିକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦୁରାବସ୍ଥା ରେ ହାତତାଳି ଦିଅନ୍ତି। ସମାନେେ ଗ୍ରୀସ୍ ଶବ୍ଦ କରି ୟିରୁଶାଲମର କନ୍ଯା ପ୍ରତି ମସ୍ତକ ହଲାଇ କହନ୍ତି, ଏ କ'ଣ ସହେି ନଗରୀ ଯାହାକୁ ଲୋକମାନେ 'ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ୟ୍ଯମଯୀ ନଗରୀ' ଓ 'ସମଗ୍ର ପୃଥିବୀର ଆନନ୍ଦ ସ୍ବରୂପ' ବୋଲି କହୁଥିଲେ ?
