Jeremiah 19:13
'ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ସମସ୍ତ ଗୃହ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜ ପ୍ରାସାଦଗୁଡ଼ିକ ତାଫେତ୍ ତୁଲ୍ଯ ଅଶୁଚି ସ୍ଥାନ ହବେ। କାରଣ ସମାନେେ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳସ୍ଥ ଅତିଥି ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ଧୂପ ଜଳାଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଅନ୍ୟ ଦବଗେଣ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ଯ ରେ ପଯେ ନବୈେଦ୍ଯ ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି।'

ତୋଫତ ବନେ-ହିନ୍ନୋମ ଉପତ୍ୟକାର ଗୋଟିଏ ସ୍ଥାନ ଥିଲା, ଯେଉଁଠା ରେ ଲୋକମାନେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ପୁତ୍ର ଓ କନ୍ଯାମାନଙ୍କୁ ମଲକେ ମିଥ୍ଯା ଦବେତା ସମ୍ମାନାର୍ଥେ ଅଗ୍ନି ରେ ହାମେ କଲେ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ଯୋଶିୟଯ ସହେି ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଅପବିତ୍ର କଲେ। ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେପରି ହାମେ ସ୍ଥାନକୁ ଅଧିକ ସମୟ ବ୍ଯବହାର ପାଇଁ ବନ୍ଦ କଲେ।

ତଥାପି ମୁଁ ଆଗ ରେ ଯେଉଁ ଦେଶ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଦବୋପାଇଁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲି, ସହେି ଦେଶକୁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଆଣିଲି। ସେତବେେଳେ ସମାନେେ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଉଚ୍ଚପର୍ବତ ଓ ପ୍ରେତ୍ୟକକ ଗହଳିଆ ବୃକ୍ଷ ଦେଖି ସମାନଙ୍କେର ବଳିଦାନ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ବଳିଦାନ ଦ୍ବାରା ମାେତେ ବିରକ୍ତ କଲେ। ସମାନେେ ନିଜର ସୁଗନ୍ଧି ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ରଖିଲେ ଓ ନିଜ ନିଜର ପଯେ ନବୈେଦ୍ଯ ଢ଼ାଳିଲେ।
