ସମାନଙ୍କେର କୁଳୀନମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଅଧୀନସ୍ଥ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଳ ପାଇଁ ପଠାନ୍ତି। ସମାନେେ ଜଳାଶଯ ନିକଟକୁ ୟାଇ ଜଳ ପାଆନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ ଓ ଶୂନ୍ଯପାତ୍ର ଘନେି ଫରେି ଆସନ୍ତି। ସମାନେେ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ଓ ଘବରା ହାଇେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମସ୍ତକ ଢ଼ାଙ୍କନ୍ତି।

ତେଣୁ ଅନାବୃଷ୍ଟି ଯୋଗୁ ଦୁଇ ତିନିଟି ନଗର ରେ ଲୋକ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ବହୁଳ ଅଞ୍ଚଳକୁ ଝଳପାନ କରିବାକୁ ଧାଇଁଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ସଠାେ ରେ ସବୁ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଜଳ ନଥିଲା। ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଲ ନାହିଁ। ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହାହିଁ କହିଲେ।

କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭର ଲୋକମାନେ ଦୁଇଟି ପାପ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି। ପ୍ରଥମତଃ ସମାନେେ ମାେତେ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କରିଛନ୍ତି ଯଦିଓ ମୁଁ ଏକ ଜୀବନଦାଯିନୀ ନିର୍ଝର ଅଟେ ଓ ଦ୍ବିତୀୟ ରେ ନିଜ ପାଇଁ ସମାନେେ ବହୁ ଜଳକୁଣ୍ଡ ଖାେଳିଛନ୍ତି। ମାତ୍ର ସହେି ଭଙ୍ଗା ଜଳକୁଣ୍ଡ ସବୁ ଜଳ ରଖିପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ।

କିନ୍ତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମାେ ପାଖେ ପାଖେ ଅଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ଜଣେ ବୀର ସୈନିକ ସଦୃଶ ମାେତେ ଆଶ୍ରଯ ଦଇେଅଛନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ମାରେ ତାଡ଼ନାକାରୀମାନେ ବିଫଳ ହବେ ଓ ମାେତେ ପରାସ୍ତ କରିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ସମାନେେ ଘାରେ ଅପମାନିତ ହବେ କାରଣ ସମାନେେ ଯାହା କରିବାକୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିଛନ୍ତି ତାହା ସଫଳତାର ସହିତ ଶଷେ କରିପାରିବେ ନାହିଁ। ତାଙ୍କର ଏହି ଅପମାନ ନିତ୍ଯସ୍ଥାଯୀ ହବେ ଓ ଲୋକେ ତାହା ଭୁଲିବେ ନାହିଁ।
Jeremiah 14:4
ଦେଶ ରେ ଅନାବୃଷ୍ଟି ହତେୁ ଭୂମି ଫାଟି ୟିବାରୁ କୃଷକମାନେ ବିବ୍ରତ ଓ ଲଜ୍ଜିତ ହାଇେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମସ୍ତକ ଢ଼ାଙ୍କିଛନ୍ତି।
