ମିଶର ରେ ଯୋଷଫଙ୍କେର ଦୁଇ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ। ମନଃଶି ଓ ଇଫ୍ରଯିମ। ଯୋଷଫଙ୍କେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଆସନତ, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଜନ୍ମ କରିଥିଲେ। ୟିଏ ଓନ୍ ନଗରସ୍ଥ ପୋଟୀଫର ଯାଜକର କନ୍ଯା ଥିଲେ।

ପରମେଶ୍ବର ମାେତେ କହିଲେ, ' ଦେଖ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ପରିବାରକୁ ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରିବି ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭଠାରୁ ନାନା ଜନସମାଜ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିବି। ତୁମ୍ଭର ବଂଶଧରକୁ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳୀନ ଅଧିକାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହି ଦେଶ ଦବେି।
