ଅନ୍ୟ ସମୟରେ ଦାଉଦ ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟର୍ଗ ରେ ଥିଲେ ଓ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରହରୀ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ବୈଥ୍ଲହମେ ରେ ଥିଲେ।

ଦାଉଦ ଗାଥ ପରିତ୍ଯାଗ କଲେ। ସେ ସଠାେରକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଅଦକ୍ସ୍ଟଲ୍ଲମ ଗକ୍ସ୍ଟମ୍ଫାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ପଳାଇଲେ। ଦାଉଦର ଭାଇମାନେ ଓ ସଐର୍କୀଯମାନେ ମଧ୍ଯ ଜାଣିଲେ ଯେ ସେ ଅଦକ୍ସ୍ଟଲ୍ଲମ ରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି। ସମାନେେ ସଠାେକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଦାଉଦକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଦଖାେ କରିବାକୁ ଗଲେ।

ତେଣୁ ଦାଉଦ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରି କହିଲେ ସେ କଦାପି ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ପରିବାରକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଧ୍ବଂସ କରିବ ନାହିଁ। ତା'ପରେ ଶାଉଲ ଗୃହକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଫରେିଲେ। ଦାଉଦ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ଲୋକମାନେ ଦକ୍ସ୍ଟର୍ଗକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ପଳାଇଗଲେ।
