2 Kings 3:23
ମାଯାେବୀଯମାନେ କହିଲେ, ରକ୍ତକୁ ଦେଖ, ରାଜାମାନେ ପରସ୍ପର ମଧିଅରେ ବୁଦ୍ଧ କରି ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହାଇେଛନ୍ତି। ସମାନେେ ପରସ୍ପର ମଧିଅରେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧକରି ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଯୋଦ୍ଧାମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଗ୍ଭଲ ଏବଂ ସହେି ମୃତ ଶରୀରରୁ ମୂଲ୍ଯବାନ ଜିନିଷମାନ ଲୁଟିବା।

ତା'ପରେ ଅରାମର ସୈନ୍ଯଗଣ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲ ରେ ପହନ୍ଚିଲେ। ଇଲୀଶାୟ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରି କହିଲେ, ମୁଁ ବିନଯ କରୁଛି, ସହେି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅନ୍ଧ କରି ଦିଅନ୍ତୁ।

ୟିହୋଶାଫଟ୍ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ମୃତ ଶରୀରଗୁଡ଼ିକ ନିକଟରୁ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ଯ ପଦାର୍ଥସବୁ ଲୁଟି ନବୋକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ସମାନେେ ଅନକେ ବହୁମୂଲ୍ଯ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯ ପାଇଲେ। ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ସହେି ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ନିଜ ନିମନ୍ତେ ନେଲେ। ସହେି ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଯିହାଶାଫେଟ୍ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ବହନ କରିବାର ସାମର୍ଥ୍ଯଠାରୁ ୟଥେଷ୍ଟ ଅଧିକ ଥିଲା। ମୃତ ଶରୀରଗୁଡ଼ିକ ନିକଟରୁ ସହେି ବହୁମୂଲ୍ଯ ଦ୍ରବ୍ଯଗୁଡ଼ିକ କାଢିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ତିନିଦିନ ଲାଗିଲା, କାରଣ ତାହା ପ୍ରଚୁର ଥିଲା।
Isaiah 10:14
ଗୋଟିଏ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ପକ୍ଷୀର ବସାରୁ ଅଣ୍ଡା ଅପହରଣ କଲାପରି ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଧନ ସମ୍ପଦ ନିଜ ହସ୍ତର ଶକ୍ତିବଳ ରେ ଅପହରଣ କରିଛି। ଅନକେ ସମୟରେ ପକ୍ଷୀ ତା'ର ବସା ଓ ଅଣ୍ଡାକୁ ଛାଡ଼ି ୟାଇଥାଏ ଓ ତା'ର ସୁରକ୍ଷା ପାଇଁ କିଛି ବ୍ଯବସ୍ଥା କରି ନ ଥାଏ। କୌଣସି ପକ୍ଷୀ ଶବ୍ଦ କରିବାକୁ କିମ୍ବା ପକ୍ଷ ଓ ଥଣ୍ଟ ସାହାୟ୍ଯ ରେ ଲଢ଼ିବାକୁ ସଠାେ ରେ ନ ଥାନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ଲୋକେ ଅଣ୍ଡା ନଇେ ୟାଆନ୍ତି। ତେଣୁ ମୁଁ ସହେିପରି ସମାନଙ୍କେର ଧନସମ୍ପଦ ଲୁଣ୍ଠନ କଲା ବେଳେ କହେି ମାେତେ ବାଧା ଦବେେ ନାହିଁ।'
