ଅବିଯଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ରେ 4,00,000 ଜଣ ସାହସୀ ସୈନିକ ଥିଲେ। ଅବିଯ ସହେି ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳକୁ ୟୁଦ୍ଧକ୍ଷେତ୍ରକୁ କଢ଼ାଇ ନେଲେ। ୟାରବିଯାମ୍ଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ରେ 8,00,000 ଜଣ ସାହସୀ ସୈନିକ ଥିଲେ। ଅବିଯଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଏକ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ ନିମନ୍ତେ ୟାରବିଯାମ୍ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହେଲେ।

ରିହବିଯାମ୍ ଯେତବେେଳେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ ଆସିଲେ, ସେ ସର୍ବୋତ୍ତମ ସୈନିକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ଯରୁ 1,80,000 ଜଣଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ। ସେ ଯିହୁଦା ଓ ବିନ୍ଯାମୀନ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀରୁ ଏହି ସୈନିକମାନଙ୍କୁ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କଲେ। ରିହବିଯାମ୍ ଯେପରି ତାଙ୍କର ରାଜ୍ଯ ଫରେିପାଇବେ, ଏଥିନିମନ୍ତେ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ୟୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ସେ ସହେି ସୈନ୍ଯମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏକତ୍ର କଲେ।

ଆସାଙ୍କର ଯିହୁଦା ବଂଶରୁ 3,00,000 ଓ ବିନ୍ଯାମୀନ ବଂଶରୁ 2 ,80,000 ଲୋକଙ୍କର ଏକ ସୈନ୍ଯଦଳ ଥିଲା। ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକମାନେ ବିରାଟକାଯ ଢ଼ାଲ ଓ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛାମାନ ବହନ କରୁଥିଲେ। ବିନ୍ଯାମୀନର ଲୋକମାନେ େଛାଟ େଛାଟ ଢ଼ାଲ ଧରୁଥିଲେ ଓ ଧନୁରୁ ତୀର ନିକ୍ଷପେ କରୁଥିଲେ। ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଶକ୍ତିଶାଳୀ ଓ ସାହସୀ ଥିଲେ।
