ରୁବନ୍େ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଥମଜାତ ପୁତ୍ର ଥିଲେ। ସେଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ବିଶଷେ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ପାଇବାର ଉଚିତ୍ ଥିଲା, କିନ୍ତୁ ସେ ନିଜ ପିତାଙ୍କର ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ସହିତ ୟୌନ ସମ୍ପର୍କ ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିଥିଲେ। ତେଣୁ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ଯୋଷଫଙ୍କେ ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ଦିଆଗଲା।

Deuteronomy 27:20
ଲବେୀୟମାନେ କହିବେ, ' ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ପିତାଙ୍କ ଭାର୍ୟ୍ଯା ସହିତ ଶଯନ କରେ ସେ ଅଭିଶଲ୍ଗ ହେଉ। କାରଣ ସେ ଯାହା ତା'ର ପିତାର ସେ ତାକକ୍ସ୍ଟ ଅନାବରଣ କରିଥାଏ।

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ଗର୍ଭ ରେ ଦୁଇ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ଦୁଇ ଗୋତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭ ଉଦରରୁ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ହବେେ। ଏକ ଗୋତ୍ର ଅନ୍ୟ ଗୋତ୍ରଠାରୁ ବଳବାନ ହବେ। ପୁଣି ଜେଷ୍ଠ କନିଷ୍ଠର ସବୋ କରିବ।
