ୟାବେଶ-ଗିଲିଯଦର ସମସ୍ତ ସାହସୀ ଲୋକମାନେ ଶାଉଲ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ରମାନଙ୍କର ମୃତ ଶରୀର ଆଣିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଗଲେ ଓ ନଇେ ଆସିଲେ। ୟାବେଶସ୍ଥିତ ଏକ ବିରାଟ ବୃକ୍ଷ ତଳେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ଅସ୍ଥିକୁ କବର ଦେଲେ। ଏହାପରେ ସମାନେେ ସାତଦିନ ପର୍ୟ୍ଯନ୍ତ ଉପବାସ କଲେ।
