लूका 6
1 एक समय, विश्रामको दिनमा येशू अन्नको खेत भएर जाँदै हुनुहुन्थयो। उहाँका चेलाहरूले अन्नाका बालाहरू टिप्दै तिनीहरूको हातमा माँडेर खाए।
2 कोही फरिसीहरूले भने, “तिमीहरू किन त्यसो गर्दैंछौ? विश्रामको दिनमा यसो गर्नु मोशाको व्यवस्थाको विरुद्ध हो?”
3 येशूले उत्तर दिनुभयो, “तिमीहरूले पढेका छैनौ, दाऊदले जब तिनी र तिनीसित हुनेहरू भोकाएका थिए तब क गरेका थिए?
4 दाऊद परमेश्वरका घर गए अनि तिनले परमेश्वरलाई चढाएको रोटी लिए अनि खाए। अनि तिनले रोटीहरू आफूसंग हुने मानिसहरूलाई बाँडे। वास्तवमा यो मोशाको व्यवस्था विरुद्ध थियो। व्यवस्था अनुसार केवल पूजाहारीरूलाई मात्र यस्तो रोटी खाने अनुमति छ।”
5 अनि येशूले फरिसीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “मानिसका पुत्र नै विश्राम दिनको प्रभु हुन्।”
6 अर्को एक विश्रामको दिन येशू सभा घरमा जानु भयो। उहाँले मानिसहरूलाई शिक्षा दिनु भयो। एकजना दाहिने हात सुकेको मानिस त्यहाँ थियो।
7 शास्त्रीहरू र फरिसीहरू त्यो विश्रामको दिन पनि येशूले कसैलाई निको पार्छन् कि भनेर हर्दैं बसिरहेका थिए। तिनीहरू चाहन्थे येशूबाट केही भूल होस् अनि उनलाई दोष लगाउन पाइयोस्।
8 तर येशूले तिनीहरूले के विचार गर्दैंछन् भनी बुझी हाल्नु भयो। उहाँले त्यो सुकेको हात भएको मानिसलाई भन्नुभयो, “उठ , अनि यी मानिसहरूको अघाडि उभ।” यसकारण त्यो मानिस जुरूक्कै उठ्यो अनि त्यहाँ उभियो।
9 येशूले तिनीहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “म तिमीहरूलाई सोध्दछु विश्रामको दिन के काम गर्न उचित होलाः राम्रो वा नराम्रो? प्राण बँचाउनु वा नाश गर्नु?”
10 येशूले ती वरिपरि बसेका सबैलाई हेर्नु भयो। अनि त्यस मानिसलाई भन्नु भयो, “खोई मलाई तिम्रो हात हेर्न देऊ।” त्यस मानिसले उहाँलाई हात देखायो। त्यसको हात तुरन्तै निको भइहाल्यो।
11 फरिष्ठ्वसीहरू र शास्त्रीहरू साह्रै रिसाए। तिनीहरू आपसमा र्तक गर्न लागे, “येशूलाई हामीले के गर्नु पर्ने हो?”
12 त्यस समयमा येशू एउटा डाँडामा गएर प्रार्थना गर्ने गर्नु हुन्थ्यो। सारा रात उहाँले प्रार्थना गरेर बिताउनु हुन्थ्यो।
13 भेलिपल्ट बिहान, उहाँले आफ्नो चेलाहरूलाई उहाँले तिनीहरूलाई “प्रेरित” नाउँ दिनु भुयो। तिनीहरू थीएः
14 शिमोन (येशूले तिनलाई पत्रुस नाउँ राख्नु भएको थियो) र आन्द्रियास पत्रुसको भाई, याकूब र यूहन्ना, फिलीप र बर्थुलमाई,
15 मत्ती, थोमा, याकूब अल्फाइको छोरो,) अनि शिमोन (जसलाई जेलोट पनि भनिन्छ),
16 यहूदा (याकूबको छोरो) अनि यहूदा इस्करयोती। यो यहूदा नै तीमध्ये एकजना हो जसले येशूलाई शत्रुहरूको हातमा सुम्पेको थियो।
17 येशू र प्रेरितहरू डाँडाबाट ओर्लेर आए। उहाँ त्यहीं एउटा सम्म जग्गामा उभिनु भयो। उहाँका चेलाहरूको एउटा ठुलो भीड त्यहाँ थियो। अनि टायर र सायडन सागर तटका शहरहरूबाट र यहूदियाका सबै ठाउँबाट, यरूशलेमबाट आएका धेरै मानिसहरू पनि त्यहाँ थिए।
18 तिनीहरू सबै त्यहाँ उहाँबाट सुन्न र आफुलाई निरोगी पार्न आएका थिए। उहाँले शैतान दुष्टात्माले पीडित मानिसहरूलाई निको पारिदिनु भयो।
19 सबैले येशूलाई छुने चेष्टा गरिरहेका थिए किनभने ती सबैलाई निको पार्दै उहाँबाट शक्ति बाहिर निस्किरहेथ्यो।
20 उहाँले आफ्ना चेलाहरूलाई हेर्नु भयो अनि भन्नु भयो,हे दीन मानिसहरू, तिमीहरूलाई आशीर्वाद छ, किनभने परमेश्वरको राज्य तिमीहरूकै हो।
21 तिमीहरू, जो अहिले भोकाएका हरूलाई पनि आशीर्वाद छ, किनभने तिमीहरू तृप्त हुनछौ। तिमीहरू, जो अहीले रोइरहेकाहरूलाई आशीर्वाद छ किनभने तिमीहरू खुशीसंग हाँस्नेछौ।
22 मानिसको पुत्रको कारण यदि तिमीहरूलाई मानिसहरूले घृणा गरे, आफ्नो समूहबाट निकाली दिए, तीनीहरूले निन्दा गरे, तिनीहरूले तिमीहरूलाई अस्वीकारे तिमीहरू धन्य हौ।
23 त्यसबेला रमाऊ अनि खुशीले उफ्र, किनभने स्वर्गमा तिमीहरूले ठूलो इनाम पाउनेछौ। तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूले अगमवक्ताहरूलाई त्यसै गरेथे, त्यसरीनै ती मानिसहरूले तिमीहरूलाई पनि त्यही व्यवहार गर्नेछन्।
24 तर धनी मानिसहरू हो! तिमीहरूलाई धिक्कार किनभने तिमीहरूले सुखी जीवन भोगेकाछौ।
25 तिमी अघाएकाहरूलाई, धिक्कार! किनभने तिमीहरू भोकाउनेछौ। तिमी अहिले हाँसिरहेकाहरूलाई, धिक्कार! किनभने तिमीहरू शोकगर्नु र रूनु पर्नेछ।
26 “धिक्कार! तिनीहरूको बारेमा मानिसहरूद्वारा प्रशंसा गरिऐको भए पनि, किनभने तिनीहरूका पुर्खाहरूले पनि झूटो अगमवक्ताहरूलाई सधैं प्रशंसा गरे।
27 “म तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु जसले मलाई सुनिरहेकाछौ, आफ्ना शत्रुहरूलाई प्रेम गर। जसले तिमीहरूलाई घृणा गर्छन तिनीहरूलाई पनि राम्रै गर।
28 तिमीहरूलाई सराप्नेहरूलाई पनि आशीर्वाद देऊ। तिमीहरूसित दुर्व्यवहार गर्नेहरूको लागि पनि प्रार्थना गर।
29 यदि कसैले तिमीहरूको एउटा गालामा थप्ड लगाए उसलाई अर्को गाला पनि थापि देऊ। यदि कसैले तिम्रो कोट लगेको छ भने उसलाई कमीज लिनु नरोक।
30 जसले माग्छ हरेकलाई देऊ। यदि कसैले तिम्रो केही लगेकोछ भने उसलाई त्यो चीज फर्काई नमाग।
31 अरूबाट तिमी जे चाहन्छौ, अरूको निम्ति पनि त्यही गरी देऊ।
32 जसले तिमीहरूलाई प्रेम गर्छन् तिनीहरूलाई मात्र प्रेम गरे, तिमीहरू के कुनै प्रशंसाको योग्य हुन सक्छौ? अँह। पापीहरू पनि तिनहरूलाई प्रेम गर्नेहरूलाई प्रेम नै गर्दछन्।
33 यदि तिमी ती मानिसहरूको निम्ति मात्र भलाई गर्छौ ज-जसले तिम्रो भलाई गर्छन्, भने के तिमी प्रशंसाको योग्य हुन सक्छौ? होईन, कारण यस्तो त पापीहरूले पनि गर्छन्।
34 यदि फिर्ता पाउने आशामा तिमी कसैलाई ऋण दिन्छौ भने के तिमी प्रशंसाको योग्य हुन सक्छौ? होइन, पापीहरू पनि पापीहरूलाई त्यति नै फिर्ता पाउने आशामा ऋण दिन्छन्।
35 यसैले आफ्ना शत्रुहरूलाई प्रेम गर। तिनीहरूसंग राम्रो गर, अनि तिनीहरूबाट केही आशा नराखी ऋण देऊ। यदी तिमीहरूले यसो गर्यो भने तिमीहरूले ठूलो इनाम पाउनेछौ, तिमीहरू सर्वौच्च परमेश्वरका सन्तानहरू झैं हुनेछौ किनभने परमेश्वर बैगुनी तथा दुष्टहरू प्रति पनि कृपालु हुनुहुन्छ।
36 जस्तो तिम्रा पिता प्रेमी र दयालु हुनु हुन्छ त्यस्तै प्रेमी र कृपालु बन।
37 अरूको न्याय नगर, अनि अरूले पनि तिम्रो न्याय गर्ने छैन। अरूलाई र्भत्सना नगर, अनि अरूले पनि तिम्रो र्भत्सना गर्दैन। अरूलाई क्षमा गर, अनि तिमीले पनि क्षमा पाउनेछौ।
38 अरूलाई दिने गर अनि तिमीले पनि पाउनेछौ। तिमीहरूले राम्रो ओजनमा पाउनेछौं, तिमीहरूलाई खाँदी खाँदी हल्लाँउदै काखमा पोखिने गरी पाउनेछौ जुन नापले तिमी अरूलाई दिंदछौ परमेश्वरले पनि तिमीहरूलाई त्यही नापले दिनु हुनेछ।”
39 येशूले तिनीहरूलाई यो दृष्टान्त भन्नु भयोः के एउटा अन्धाले अर्को अन्धालाई डोर्याउन सक्छ? अहँ! दुवै नै खाडलमा पर्नेछन्।
40 एउटा शिष्य आफ्नो गुरूभन्दा माथि हुन सक्तैन। तर प्रत्येक मानिस जसले पूर्णरूपले सिकिसक्छ तब मात्र उ गुरू झैं बन्नसक्छ।
41 जब तिमी आफ्नो आँखमा सानो छेस्का पसेको थाहा पाउदैनौ, भाईको आँखमा परेको धुलो किन देख्छौ?
42 तिमीहरूले कसरी आफ्नो भाइलाई भन्न सक्छौ, ए भाई मलाई तिम्रो आँखामा भएको धुलो निकाल्न देऊ। जब तिमीहरूले आफ्नो आँखामा परेको ठूलो छेस्कालाई पनि देख्न सक्तैनौ। तिमीहरू कपटी छौ। पहिले, तिमीहरू आफैले आफ्नो आँखबाट ठूलो छेस्का निकाल। त्यसपछि तिमीहरूले स्पष्टसंग तिमीहरूको भाइको आँखामा परेको धुलो निकाल्न सक्नेछौ।
43 एउटा असल बोटले खराब फल कहिल्यै दिँदैन। त्यसरी नै एउटा नराम्रो बोटले राम्रो फल दिनु सक्तैन।
44 हरेक बौट त्यसले दिएको फलबाट चिन्न सकिन्छ। मानिसहरूले काँडे पोथ्राबाट नेभारा बटुल्न सक्तैनन्। अनि तिनीहरूले काँडे पोथ्राबाट अंङ्गुर बटुल्न सक्तैनन्।
45 एउटा असल मानिसले आफ्नो हृदयमा असल कुरा नै राख्छ। अनि उसले आफ्नो हृदयबाट असल कुरा बाहिर निकाल्दछ। तर एउटा दुष्ट मानिसले आफ्नो हृदयमा दुष्ट कूराहरू नै राखेको हुन्छ। अनि उसले नराम्रा कुराहरू नै बाहिर निकाल्दछ। जुन कुरो हृदयमा परिपूर्ण छ त्यही नै मुखबाट निस्कन्छ।
46 जब मैले भनेको मान्दैनौ भने किन मलाई प्रभु, भन्दछै?
47 हरेक मानिस जब मकहाँ आउँदछ अनि मेरो वचनहरू सुन्दछ र पालन गर्छ, म तिमीहरूलाई ऊ कस्तो हो देखाउनेछु।
48 ऊ एकजना घर बनाउने मानिस जस्तै नै हो। उसले गहिरो खनेर बलियो चट्टानमाथि जग बसाल्न सक्नेछ। जति बेला नदीमा बाढी आँउछ पानीले घरलाई धक्का दिन्छ तर त्यसले घरलाई हल्लाउन सक्तैन कारण त्यो घर राम्ररी बनिएको हुन्छ।
49 तर जो मानिस मेरो वचन सुनछ तर पालन गर्दैन भने त्यो मानिस राम्ररी आधार नबसाई घर बनाउने मानिस जस्तै हो जसको घर नदीको बाढीको झोक्काँ लाग्दा नै झट्टै पल्टिन्छ र सम्पूर्ण रूपले ध्वंश हुन्छ।”
1 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands.
2 And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;
4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
8 But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
14 Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
15 Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,
16 And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Luke 22 in Tamil and English
1 अखमीरी रोटी का पर्व्व जो फसह कहलाता है, निकट था।
Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2 और महायाजक और शास्त्री इस बात की खोज में थे कि उस को क्योंकर मार डालें, पर वे लोगों से डरते थे॥
And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3 और शैतान यहूदा में समाया, जो इस्करियोती कहलाता और बारह चेलों में गिना जाता था।
Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 उस ने जाकर महायाजकों और पहरूओं के सरदारों के साथ बातचीत की, कि उस को किस प्रकार उन के हाथ पकड़वाए।
And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
5 वे आनन्दित हुए, और उसे रूपये देने का वचन दिया।
And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
6 उस ने मान लिया, और अवसर ढूंढ़ने लगा, कि बिना उपद्रव के उसे उन के हाथ पकड़वा दे॥
And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7 तब अखमीरी रोटी के पर्व्व का दिन आया, जिस में फसह का मेम्ना बली करना अवश्य था।
Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
8 और यीशु ने पतरस और यूहन्ना को यह कहकर भेजा, कि जाकर हमारे खाने के लिये फसह तैयार करो।
And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
9 उन्होंने उस से पूछा, तू कहां चाहता है, कि हम तैयार करें?
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
10 उस ने उन से कहा; देखो, नगर में प्रवेश करते ही एक मनुष्य जल का घड़ा उठाए हुए तुम्हें मिलेगा, जिस घर में वह जाए; तुम उसके पीछे चले जाना।
And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
11 और उस घर के स्वामी से कहो, कि गुरू तुझ से कहता है; कि वह पाहुनशाला कहां है जिस में मैं अपने चेलों के साथ फसह खाऊं?
And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
12 वह तुम्हें एक सजी सजाई बड़ी अटारी दिखा देगा; वहां तैयारी करना।
And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
13 उन्होंने जाकर, जैसा उस ने उन से कहा था, वैसा ही पाया, और फसह तैयार किया॥
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
14 जब घड़ी पहुंची, तो वह प्रेरितों के साथ भोजन करने बैठा।
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
15 और उस ने उन से कहा; मुझे बड़ी लालसा थी, कि दुख-भोगने से पहिले यह फसह तुम्हारे साथ खाऊं।
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
16 क्योंकि मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि जब तक वह परमेश्वर के राज्य में पूरा न हो तब तक मैं उसे कभी न खाऊंगा।
For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
17 तब उस ने कटोरा लेकर धन्यवाद किया, और कहा, इस को लो और आपस में बांट लो।
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
18 क्योंकि मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि जब तक परमेश्वर का राज्य न आए तब तक मैं दाख रस अब से कभी न पीऊंगा।
For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
19 फिर उस ने रोटी ली, और धन्यवाद करके तोड़ी, और उन को यह कहते हुए दी, कि यह मेरी देह है, जो तुम्हारे लिये दी जाती है: मेरे स्मरण के लिये यही किया करो।
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
20 इसी रीति से उस ने बियारी के बाद कटोरा भी यह कहते हुए दिया कि यह कटोरा मेरे उस लोहू में जो तुम्हारे लिये बहाया जाता है नई वाचा है।
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
21 पर देखो, मेरे पकड़वाने वाले का हाथ मेरे साथ मेज पर है।
But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
22 क्योंकि मनुष्य का पुत्र तो जैसा उसके लिये ठहराया गया जाता ही है, पर हाय उस मनुष्य पर, जिस के द्वारा वह पकड़वाया जाता है!
And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
23 तब वे आपस में पूछ पाछ करने लगे, कि हम में से कौन है, जो यह काम करेगा?
And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
24 उन में यह वाद-विवाद भी हुआ; कि हम में से कौन बड़ा समझा जाता है
And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
25 उस ने उन से कहा, अन्यजातियों के राजा उन पर प्रभुता करते हैं; और जो उन पर अधिकार रखते हैं, वे उपकारक कहलाते हैं।
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
26 परन्तु तुम ऐसे न होना; वरन जो तुम में बड़ा है, वह छोटे की नाईं और जो प्रधान है, वह सेवक की नाईं बने।
But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
27 क्योंकि बड़ा कौन है; वह जो भोजन पर बैठा या वह जो सेवा करता है? क्या वह नहीं जो भोजन पर बैठा है? पर मैं तुम्हारे बीच में सेवक की नाईं हूं।
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
28 परन्तु तुम वह हो, जो मेरी परीक्षाओं में लगातार मेरे साथ रहे।
Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
29 और जैसे मेरे पिता ने मेरे लिये एक राज्य ठहराया है,
And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;
30 वैसे ही मैं भी तुम्हारे लिये ठहराता हूं, ताकि तुम मेरे राज्य में मेरी मेज पर खाओ-पिओ; वरन सिंहासनों पर बैठकर इस्त्राएल के बारह गोत्रों का न्याय करो।
That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 शमौन, हे शमौन, देख, शैतान ने तुम लोगों को मांग लिया है कि गेंहूं की नाईं फटके।
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 परन्तु मैं ने तेरे लिये बिनती की, कि तेरा विश्वास जाता न रहे: और जब तू फिरे, तो अपने भाइयों को स्थिर करना।
But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33 उस ने उस से कहा; हे प्रभु, मैं तेरे साथ बन्दीगृह जाने, वरन मरने को भी तैयार हूं।
And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
34 उस ने कहा; हे पतरस मैं तुझ से कहता हूं, कि आज मुर्ग बांग न देगा जब तक तू तीन बार मेरा इन्कार न कर लेगा कि मैं उसे नहीं जानता॥
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
35 और उस ने उन से कहा, कि जब मैं ने तुम्हें बटुए, और झोली, और जूते बिना भेजा था, तो क्या तुम को किसी वस्तु की घटी हुई थी? उन्होंने कहा; किसी वस्तु की नहीं।
And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
36 उस ने उन से कहा, परन्तु अब जिस के पास बटुआ हो वह उसे ले, और वैसे ही झोली भी, और जिस के पास तलवार न हो वह अपने कपड़े बेचकर एक मोल ले।
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
37 क्योंकि मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि यह जो लिखा है, कि वह अपराधियों के साथ गिना गया, उसका मुझ में पूरा होना अवश्य है; क्योंकि मेरे विषय की बातें पूरी होने पर हैं।
For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
38 उन्होंने कहा; हे प्रभु, देख, यहां दो तलवारें हैं: उस ने उन से कहा; बहुत हैं॥
And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
39 तब वह बाहर निकलकर अपनी रीति के अनुसार जैतून के पहाड़ पर गया, और चेले उसके पीछे हो लिए।
And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
40 उस जगह पहुंचकर उस ने उन से कहा; प्रार्थना करो, कि तुम परीक्षा में न पड़ो।
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 और वह आप उन से अलग एक ढेला फेंकने के टप्पे भर गया, और घुटने टेक कर प्रार्थना करने लगा।
And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 कि हे पिता यदि तू चाहे तो इस कटोरे को मेरे पास से हटा ले, तौभी मेरी नहीं परन्तु तेरी ही इच्छा पूरी हो।
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 तब स्वर्ग से एक दूत उस को दिखाई दिया जो उसे सामर्थ देता था।
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44 और वह अत्यन्त संकट में व्याकुल होकर और भी ह्रृदय वेदना से प्रार्थना करने लगा; और उसका पसीना मानो लोहू की बड़ी बड़ी बून्दों की नाईं भूमि पर गिर रहा था।
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
45 तब वह प्रार्थना से उठा और अपने चेलों के पास आकर उन्हें उदासी के मारे सोता पाया; और उन से कहा, क्यों सोते हो?
And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 उठो, प्रार्थना करो, कि परीक्षा में न पड़ो॥
And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
47 वह यह कह ही रहा था, कि देखो एक भीड़ आई, और उन बारहों में से एक जिस का नाम यहूदा था उनके आगे आगे आ रहा था, वह यीशु के पास आया, कि उसका चूमा ले।
And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
48 यीशु ने उस से कहा, हे यहूदा, क्या तू चूमा लेकर मनुष्य के पुत्र को पकड़वाता है?
But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49 उसके साथियों ने जब देखा कि क्या होनेवाला है, कहा; हे प्रभु, क्या हम तलवार चलाएं?
When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 और उन में से एक ने महायाजक के दास पर चलाकर उसका दाहिना कान उड़ा दिया।
And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
51 इस पर यीशु ने कहा; अब बस करो: और उसका कान छूकर उसे अच्छा किया।
And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
52 तब यीशु ने महायाजकों; और मन्दिर के पहरूओं के सरदारों और पुरनियों से, जो उस पर चढ़ आए थे, कहा; क्या तुम मुझे डाकू जानकर तलवारें और लाठियां लिए हुए निकले हो?
Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
53 जब मैं मन्दिर में हर दिन तुम्हारे साथ था, तो तुम ने मुझ पर हाथ न डाला; पर यह तुम्हारी घड़ी है, और अन्धकार का अधिकार है॥
When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54 फिर वे उसे पकड़कर ले चले, और महायाजक के घर में लाए और पतरस दूर ही दूर उसके पीछे पीछे चलता था।
Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.
55 और जब वे आंगन में आग सुलगाकर इकट्ठे बैठे, तो पतरस भी उन के बीच में बैठ गया।
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
56 और एक लौंडी उसे आग के उजियाले में बैठे देखकर और उस की ओर ताककर कहने लगी, यह भी तो उसके साथ था।
But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
57 परन्तु उस ने यह कहकर इन्कार किया, कि हे नारी, मैं उसे नहीं जानता।
And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
58 थोड़ी देर बाद किसी और ने उसे देखकर कहा, तू भी तो उन्हीं में से है: पतरस ने कहा; हे मनुष्य मैं नहीं हूं।
And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 कोई घंटे भर के बाद एक और मनुष्य दृढ़ता से कहने लगा, निश्चय यह भी तो उसके साथ था; क्योंकि यह गलीली है।
And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
60 पतरस ने कहा, हे मनुष्य, मैं नहीं जानता कि तू क्या कहता है! वह कह ही रहा था कि तुरन्त मुर्ग ने बांग दी।
And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.
61 तब प्रभु ने घूमकर पतरस की ओर देखा, और पतरस को प्रभु की वह बात याद आई जो उस ने कही थी, कि आज मुर्ग के बांग देने से पहिले, तू तीन बार मेरा इन्कार करेगा।
And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
62 और वह बाहर निकलकर फूट फूट कर रोने लगा॥
And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
63 जो मनुष्य यीशु को पकड़े हुए थे, वे उसे ठट्ठों में उड़ाकर पीटने लगे।
And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
64 और उस की आंखे ढांपकर उस से पूछा, कि भविष्यद्वाणी करके बता कि तुझे किसने मारा।
And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
65 और उन्होंने बहुत सी और भी निन्दा की बातें उसके विरोध में कहीं॥
And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.
66 जब दिन हुआ तो लोगों के पुरिनए और महायाजक और शास्त्री इकट्ठे हुए, और उसे अपनी महासभा में लाकर पूछा,
And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
67 यदि तू मसीह है, तो हम से कह दे! उस ने उन से कहा, यदि मैं तुम से कहूं तो प्रतीति न करोगे।
Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
68 और यदि पूछूं, तो उत्तर न दोगे।
And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
69 परन्तु अब से मनुष्य का पुत्र सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर की दाहिनी और बैठा रहेगा।
Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
70 इस पर सब ने कहा, तो क्या तू परमेश्वर का पुत्र है? उस ने उन से कहा; तुम आप ही कहते हो, क्योंकि मैं हूं।
Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
71 तब उन्होंने कहा; अब हमें गवाही का क्या प्रयोजन है; क्योंकि हम ने आप ही उसके मुंह से सुन लिया है॥
And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
