होशायाहको छोरो अजर्याह, कारेहको छोरो योहानान, अनि सबै अभिमानी मानिसहरू घमण्डी र हठी थिए। तिनीहरूले यर्मियालाई भने, “यर्मिया तिमी झूटो छौ! परमप्रभु हामीहरूका परमेश्वरले हामीलाई ‘तिमीहरू मिश्रमा बस्नु जानु भन्नु भनी तिमीलाई सुझाउ दिनु भएको छैन।’
