2 राजा 2
1 जब परमप्रभुले एलियालाई आँधीवेहरीमा स्वर्गमा उठाए लैजान आँट्नु भएको थियो। एलिया र एलीशासँगै गिलगाल छोडे।
2 एलियाले एलीशालाई भने, “कृपया यही पर्ख, किनभने परमप्रभुले मलाई बेतेल जानु भन्नु भएको छ।”तर एलीशाले भने, “परमप्रभु हुनुहुन्छ अनि तिमी जिउँदै छौ, यसर्थ म शपथ खाएर भन्छु, म तिमीलाई छोड्ने छैन।” यसकारण दुइ जना मानिसहरू बेतेलतिर गए।
3 बेतेलमा अगमवक्ताहरूको दल एलीशाकहाँ आयो अनि उनलाई भन्यो, “तिमीलाई थाह छ परमप्रभुले तिम्रा मालिकलाई आज लिएर जानु हुनेछ।”एलीशाले भने, “हो म जान्दछु यो। यस बारे कुरा नगर।”
4 एलियाले एलीशालाई भने, “कृपया यहीं पर्ख, किनभने परमप्रभुले मलाई यरीहोमा जानु भन्नुभएको छ।”एलीशाले उत्तर दिए, “म शपथ खाएर भन्छु किनभने परमप्रभु हुनुहुन्छ अनि तिमी जिउँदो छौ, म तिमीलाई छोड्ने छैन।” यसकारण दुइ जना मानिसहरू यरीहोमा गए।
5 यरीहोको अगमवक्ताहरूको दल एलीया कहाँ आयो अनि उनिहरूले उसलाई भने, “के तिमीलाई थाहा छ कि तिम्रो मालिकलाई आज परमप्रभुले तिमी देखी टाढा लिएर जानु हुँदैछ।”एलीशाले भने, “हो, म जान्दछु यो विषयमा कुरा नगर।”
6 एलियाले एलीशासँग भने, “कृपया यहीं पर्ख किनकि परमप्रभुले मलाई यर्दन तरेर जानु भन्नुभएको छ।”एलीशाले भने, “परमेश्वरको साक्षी दिएर म प्रतिज्ञा गर्छु, म तपाईंलाई छोड्ने छैन।” अनि दुइ व्यक्ति गए।
7 अगमवक्ताहरूको दलका पचास जना मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूको अनुसरण गरे। एलिया र एलीशा यर्दन नदी मा उभिए। पचास जना मानिसहरू एलिया र एलीशादेखि टाढा उभिए।
8 एलियाले आफ्नो खाष्टो खोले, त्यसलाई पट्याए र त्यसले पानीमा हिर्काए। पानी देब्रे र दाहिनेतिर दुइ भागमा बाँडियो। तब एलिया र एलीशाले सूख्खा भूइँमाथि हिंडेर नदी तरे।
9 जब तिनीहरूले नदी तरे एलियाले एलीशालाई भने, “परमेश्वरले मलाई तिमीबाट लिएर जानु अघि तिम्रो लागि म के गर्न सक्छु?” एलीशाले भने, “म तपाईको उत्तराधिकारी हुन चाहन्छु।”
10 एलियाले भने, “तिमीले अप्ठ्यारो वस्तु माग्यौ। जब तिमीबाट मलाई लिएर जाँदा यदि तिमीले देख्यौ भने तब यस्तै हुन्छ। तर तिमीले देखेनौ भने त्यस्तो हुँदैन।”
11 एलिया र एलीशा हिंडिरहेका थिए अनि कुरा गरिरहेका थिए। अचानक केही घोडाहरू र एउटा रथ आयो अनि एलीशाबाट एलियालाई छुट्यायो। घोडा र रथ आगो समान थिए। तब एलियालाई हावाबतासमा स्वर्गमा लगियो।
12 एलीशाले यसलाई देखे अनि चिच्याए, “मेरा पिता! मेरा पिता! इस्राएलको रथ अनि उहाँका घोडसैनिकहरू।”एलीशाले एलियालाई फेरि कहिले देखेनन्। एलीशाले आफ्नो लुगालाई पक्रिए अनि आफ्नो शोक देखाउन च्याते।
13 एलियाको खाष्टो भुइँमा झर्यो त्यसकारण एलिशाले त्यसलाई टिपे र यर्दन नदीको किनारमा उभिए।
14 एलीशाले एलियाको खाष्टो लियो र त्यसले पानीमा हिर्काए। उसले भन्यो, “एलियाका परमेश्वर परमप्रभु कहाँ हुनुहुन्छ?” जब एलीशाले पानीमाथि प्रहार गरे। तब पानी दाहिने र देब्रेतिर दुइ भागमा विभाजन भयो र एलीशाले नदी तरे।
15 जब यरीहोका अगमवक्ताहरूको दलले एलीशालाई देखे, तिनीहरूले भने, “एलियाको आत्मा अहिले एलीशामा छ।” तिनीहरू एलीशालाई हेर्न आए। तिनीहरू एलीशा अघि भुईंमा निहुरिए।
16 तिनीहरूले उनलाई भने, “हेर, हामी पचास जना असल मानिस छौं। कृपया तिनीहरूलाई जान देऊ अनि आफ्नो मालिक खोज्न देऊ। हुन सक्छ, परमप्रभुको आत्माले एलियालाई माथि लगेको छ अनि उनलाई कुनै पहाड अथवा घाँटीमा झारेको छ।”तर एलीशाले उत्तर दिए, “होइन, एलियालाई खोज्न मानिसहरू नपठाऊ!”
17 अगमवक्ताहरूको दलले एलीशालाई तिनी अलमल्ल पारूञ्जेलसम्म बिन्ती गरिरहे। तब एलीशाले भने, “ठीक छ, एलियालाई खोज्न मानिसहरू पठाऊ।” अगमवक्ताहरूको दलले 50 जना मानिसहरूलाई एलियालाई खोज्न पठाए। तिनीहरूले तीन दिन खोजे तर तिनीहरूले एलियालाई भेटेनन्।
18 यसकारण मानिसहरू यरिहो गए जहाँ एलीशा बसेका थिए। तिनीहरूले उनलाई एलियालाई तिनीहरूले खोज्न नसकेको बताए। एलीशाले तिनीहरूलाई बताए, “मैले तिमीहरूलाई नजानु भनेको थिएँ।”
19 शहरका मानिसहरूले एलीशालाई भने, “महाशय, तपाई यस शहरलाई राम्रो ठाउँमा बनाउनुहुनेछ। तर पानी राम्रो छैन। त्यसकारण नै जमीनले अन्नबाली उँमार्दैन।”
20 एलीशाले भने, “एउटा नयाँ कचौरा मकहाँ ल्याऊ र त्यसमा नून हाल।”मानिसहरूले एलीशा कहाँ कचौरा ल्याए।
21 तब एलीशा त्यस ठाउँमा गए जहाँ भुइँबाट पानी बगिरहेको थियो। एलीशाले पानीमा नून हाले। उनले भने, “परमप्रभुले भन्नुभएको छ, ‘म यस पानीलाई शुद्ध बनाइरहेको छु। अब देखि यस पानीले कसैलाई मार्ने छैन अथवा जमीनलाई अन्न फल्ने बनाउँनेछ।”‘
22 पानी शुद्ध भयो। त्यो पानी अझै आज पनि राम्रो छ। यो यस्तै भयो जस्तो एलीशाले भनेका थिए।
23 एलीशा त्यस शहरबाट बेतेल गए। एलीशा शहरतिर पहाडमा उकालो चढिरहेका थिए अनि केही केटाहरू शहरबाट तल झरिरहेका थिए। तिनीहरूले एलीशाको हाँसो उडाउन शुरू गरे। तिनीहरूले उनलाई भने, “माथि चढ, तँ तालुखुइले मान्छे। माथि चढ तँ तालुखुईले मान्छे।”
24 एलीशाले पछि हेरे अनि उनीलाई देखे। उनले परमप्रभुलाई तिनीहरूप्रति नराम्रो होस् भनी बिन्ती गरे। तब बनबाट दुइवटा भालू निस्किए अनि केटाहरूमाथि आक्रमण गरे। भालूद्वारा बयालीस केटाहरू च्यातिदिए।
25 एलीशाले बेतेल छोडे अनि कर्मेल पहाडतिर हिंडे। अनि त्यहाँ बाट एलीशा सामरियातिर फर्किए।योराम इस्राएलका राजा हुन्छन्
1 And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Beth-el. And Elisha said unto him, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth-el.
3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Beth-el came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.
5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.
7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.
9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.
11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;
14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Lord God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the Lord hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not.
18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?
19 And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren.
20 And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him.
21 And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
22 So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.
23 And he went up from thence unto Beth-el: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.

1 जब शाऊल के पुत्र ने सुना, कि अब्नेर हेब्रोन में मारा गया, तब उसके हाथ ढीले पड़ गए, और सब इस्राएली भी घबरा गए।
And when Saul’s son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.
2 शाऊल के पुत्र के दो जन थे जो दलों के प्रधान थे; एक का नाम बाना, और दूसरे का नाम रेकाब था, ये दोनों बेरोतवासी बिन्यामीनी रिम्मोन के पुत्र थे, ( क्योंकि बेरोत भी बिन्यामीन के भाग में गिना जाता है;
And Saul’s son had two men that were captains of bands: the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon a Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin: (for Beeroth also was reckoned to Benjamin:
3 और बेरोती लोग गितैम को भाग गए, और आज के दिन तक वहीं परदेशी हो कर रहते हैं।)
And the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and were sojourners there until this day.)
4 शाऊल के पुत्र योनातन के एक लंगड़ा बेटा था। जब यिज्रेल से शाऊल और योनातन का समाचार आया तब वह पांच वर्ष का था; उस समय उसकी धाई उसे उठा कर भागी; और उसके उतावली से भागने के कारण वह गिर के लंगड़ा हो गया। और उसका नाम मपीबोशेत था।
And Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled: and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
5 उस बेरोती रिम्मोन के पुत्र रेकाब और बाना कड़े घाम के समय ईशबोशेत के घर में जब वह दोपहर को विश्राम कर रहा था आए।
And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ish-bosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.
6 और गेहूं ले जाने के बहाने मे घर में घुस गए; और उसके पेट में मारा; तब रेकाब और उसका भाई बाना भाग निकले।
And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him under the fifth rib: and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
7 जब वे घर में घुसे, और वह सोने की कोठरी में चारपाई पर सोता था, तब अन्होंने उसे मार डाला, और उसका सिर काट लिया, और उसका सिर ले कर रातोंरात अराबा के मार्ग से चले।
For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bedchamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and gat them away through the plain all night.
8 और वे ईशबोशेत का सिर हेब्रोन में दाऊद के पास ले जा कर राजा से कहने लगे, देख, शाऊल जो तेरा शत्रु और तेरे प्राणों का ग्राहक था, उसके पुत्र ईशबोशेत का यह सिर है; तो आज के दिन यहोवा ने शाऊल और उसके वंश से मेरे प्रभु राजा का पलटा लिया है।
And they brought the head of Ish-bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the Lord hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.
9 दाऊद ने बेरोती रिम्मोन के पुत्र रेकाब और उसके भाई बाना को उत्तर देकर उन से कहा, यहोवा जो मेरे प्राण को सब विपत्तियों से छुड़ाता आया है, उसके जीवन की शपथ,
And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the Lord liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
10 जब किसी ने यह जानकर, कि मैं शुभ समाचार देता हूं, सिकलग में मुझ को शाऊल के मरने का समाचार दिया, तब मैं ने उसको पकड़कर घात कराया; अर्थात उसको समाचार का यही बदला मिला।
When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:
11 फिर जब दुष्ट मनुष्यों ने एक निर्दोष मनुष्य को उसी के घर में, वरन उसकी चारपाई ही पर घात किया, तो मैं अब अवश्य ही उसके खून का पलटा तुम से लूंगा, और तुम्हें धरती पर से नष्ट कर डालूंगा।
How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
12 तब दाऊद ने जवानों को आज्ञा दी, और उन्होंने उन को घात करके उनके हाथ पांव काट दिए, और उनकी लोथों को हेब्रोन के पोखरे के पास टांग दिया। तब ईशबोशेत के सिर को उठा कर हेब्रोन में अब्नेर की कब्र में गाड़ दिया।
And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-bosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
