Luke 7
1 जब येशूले मानिसहरूलाई उपदेश दिइ सिध्याउनु भयो उहाँ कफर्नहुम जानु भयो।
2 कफर्नहुममा एकजना कप्तान थियो। उसको एकजना नोकर सिकिस्त बिमारी थियो, त्यो मर्नै लागेको थियो। त्यस कप्तानले नोकरलाई खुबै माया गर्ने गर्थ्यो।
3 जब उसले येशूको बारेमा सुन्यो तब बूढा यहूदी प्रधानहरूलाई उहाँकहाँ पठायो र त्यस नोकरलाई बचाउनुको लागि आउन भनि बिन्ती गर्न पठायो।
4 ती मानिसहरू येशूकहाँ गए, अनि त्यो कप्तानलाई सहायता गर्नु मार्मिक तरिकाले आग्रह गर्दै भने, “त्यो कप्तान तपाईंको सहायता पाउनु साँच्चै योग्यको छ।”
5 तिनले हाम्रो मानिसहरूलाई माया गर्छन् र हाम्रो निम्ति सभा घर पनि बनाइदिएका छन्।”
6 यसकारण येशू ती मानिसहरूसंग जानु भयो। उहाँ यसो भनि विन्ती गर्न पठायो, हे प्रभु, तपाईं मोरो घरमा आउने कष्ट नगर्नुहोस्। तपाईं जस्तो मानिस मेरो घरमा पाउ कष्ट गर्न योग्यको म छैन।
7 यसकारण म आफैं पनि तपाँईकहाँ मानसंगत रूपमा जान योग्यको सम्झिन्न, तपाईंले आदेश मात्र दिनुहोस् मेरो नोकर जाती हुन्छ।
8 तपाईंको अधिकार मलाई थाहा छ। म पनि अरू मानिसहरूको अधिकारको वशमा छु। अनि मेरो अधिकारमा सैनिकहरू छन्। यदि म एकजना सैनिकलाई भन्छु, ‘जाऊ’, अनि त्यो जान्छ। अनि अर्को सैनिकलाई भन्दछु, ‘आऊ’, अनि त्यो आउँछ। अनि यदी मेरो नोकरलाई भन्दछु, ‘यो गर’, अनि त्यसले गर्छ।”
9 जब येशूले यी कुरा सुन्नु भयो, उहाँ छक्क पर्नु भयो। येशूले उहाँलाई पछ्याएर आउने मानिसहरू पट्टि फर्केर भन्नुभयो, “म तिमीहरूलाई भन्छु, मैले यस्तो विश्वास सारा इस्राएलमा कतै पनि पाइँन।”
10 येशूलाई बोलाउन गएका सबै मानिसहरू घर र्फकिए। तिनीहरूले त्यो नोकरलाई निको भइसकेको भेटे।
11 अर्को दिन येशू नाइन भन्ने शहरमा जानुभयो। उहाँका चेलाहरू र धेरै मानिसहरू पनि उहाँ संगै गहरहेका थिए।
12 जब येशू शहरको फाटक नजिक पुग्नु भयो, उनले मुर्दा लगिरहेको देख्नु भयो। एउटी विधवाको एउटै भएको छोरो मरेको थियो। जब लाश लगिरहेको थियो शहरका धेरै मानिसहरू ती विधवासंग थिए।
13 जब प्रभु येशूले तिनलाई देख्नुभयो उहाँ त्यस विधवाको निम्ति हृदयबाट दुःखी हुनु भयो र तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “नरोऊ।”
14 येशू शवपेटिकाको नजिक पुग्नु भयो अनि त्यसलाई छुनुभयो। लाश लगिरहेका मलामीहरू टक्क अडिए। उहाँले त्यो मरेको केटोलाई भन्नु भयो, “ए युवक म तिमीलाई भन्दछु, उठ।”
15 त्यसपछि त्यो मरेको केटो तत्कालै उठेर बस्यो अनि बात गर्न शुरु गर्यो। येशूले त्यस केटोलाई त्यसको आमालाई सुम्पिदिनु भयो।
16 सबै मानिसहरू छक्क परे अनि यसो भन्दै परमेश्वरको प्रशंसा गरे, “एउटा महान् अगमवक्ता हामीकहाँ आउनु भएको छ।” अनि तिनीहरूले यो पनि भन्दै थिए, “परमेश्वरले आफ्ना प्रजाहरूको हेरचाह गरिरहनु भएकोछ।”
17 उहाँको विषयको यो खबर सारा यहूदिया र यसको वरिपरि देशमा फिंजियो।
18 यूहन्नाका चेलाहरुले यी सब घटनाहरूको विषयमा तिनलाई जानकारी गराए। यूहन्नाले आफ्ना चेलाहरूमध्ये दुइजनालाई बोलाए।
19 यूहन्नाले तिनीहरूलाई प्रभु येशूसँग सोध्न पठाए, “एकजना जो आउनेवाला थिए तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्छ? अथवा अझ अरूलाई नै पर्खनु पर्छ?”
20 त्यसपछि मानिसहरू येशूकहाँ आए। तिनीहरूले भने, “बप्तिस्मा दिने यूहन्नाले हामीलाई यो सोध्नलाई तपाईंकहाँ पठाएका छन्, के आउनेवाला तपाईं नै हुनुहुन्छ, अथवा हामी अझ अर्कैको बाटो हेरौं?”
21 त्यसै बेला, येशूले धेरैलाई तिनीहरूको रोग, व्यथा र तिनीहरूबाट दुष्ट आत्माहरू छुटाउनु भयो। उहाँले धेरै अन्धो मानिसलाई पनि देख्नसक्ने बनाउनु भयो।
22 अनि उहाँले यूहन्नाका चेलाहरूलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिमीहरूले यहाँ जे कुराहरू देख्यौ अनि सुन्यौ गएर यहून्नालाई भन। अन्धो मानिस पनि निको भयो र देख्ने भयो। लङ्गडाहरू हिँडन थाले। कोढीहरू कोढरहित भए। बहिराहरूले सुन्न थाले। मरेकाहरूले जीवन पाए। अनि गरीब मानिसहरू परमेश्वरको राज्यको सुसमाचारहरू सुनिरहेकाछन्।
23 कसैले मलाई ग्रहण गर्दा समस्यामा पर्दैन भने त्यो अनुग्रहित पुरुष धन्य हो।”
24 जब यूहन्नाको चेलाहरू गए, येशूले यूहन्नाको विषयमा भन्न लाग्नु भयोः “तीमीहरू उजाड स्थानमा के हेर्न जान्छौ? बतासले हल्लाइरहेको निगालोलाई?
25 मरूभूमिमा तिमीहरू के हेर्न आयौ? एउटा सुन्दर वस्त्र लगाएको मानिस हेर्नलाई? होइन। सुन्दर र राम्रा वस्त्रहरू लगाउनेहरू त राज-दरबारमा बस्छन्।
26 साँच्चै, तिमीहरू यहाँ के हेर्न आयौ? एकजना अगमक्ता? अँ, म तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु, यूहन्ना अगमवक्ताभन्दा पनि श्रेष्ठ हुन्।
27 उनी ती मानिस जसको विषयमा यस्तो लेखिएको छःसुन! म मेरो सहयोगीलाई तिम्रो अघि पठाउँछु। जसले तिम्रो अघि तिम्रो मार्ग तयार गर्नेछ।द्भ्य मलकी
28 तिमीहरूलाई भन्दछु, यूहन्नानै अहिलेसम्म जन्मेका मानिसहरूमा सब भन्दा ठूला हुन् तापनि जो परमेश्वरको राज्यमा सानो छ त्यो तिनी भन्दा ठूलो छ।”
29 जब मानिसहरूले यस विषयमा सुने, तिनीहरूले माने कि परमेश्वरको शिक्षा राम्रो छ। ती कर उठाउनेहरू पनि सहमत भए । ती मानिसहरूलाई यूहन्नाद्वारा नै बप्तिस्मा गराइएको थियो।
30 तर फरिसीहरू र शास्त्रीहरूले तिनीहरूको लागी बनाइको परमेश्वरको अभिप्रायलाई तिनीहरूको निम्ति यूहन्नाबाट बप्तिस्मा लिन अस्वीकार गरेर रद्ध गरे।
31 “यस युगको मानिसहरूको विषयमा मैले कसरी वर्ण गर्नु? तिनीहरू के जस्ता छन्?
32 यी मानिसहरू बजारमा बसिरहेका केटा-केटीहरू जस्तै छन्। एउटा दलको नानीहरूले अर्को दलको नानीहरूलाई बोलाउँछन् अनि भन्छन्हामीले तिमीहरूको निम्ति बाँसुरी बजायौं, तर तिमीहरू नाचेनौं, हामीले बिलौनाका गीत गायौं तर तिमीहरू रोएनौ।
33 बप्तिस्मा दिने यूहन्ना आए तर अरू मानिसहरूले जस्तो खाने कुरा खाएनन् अनि दाखरस पिएनन्। अनि तिमीहरू भन्दछौ, उसलाई भूत लागेको छ।’
34 मानिसको पुत्र चाँहि अरू मानिसहरू झैं खाँदै र दाखरस पिउँदै आए। अनि तिमीहरू भन्दछौ, हेर उसलाई। खुब खान्छ अनि पिउँछ। कर उठाउनेहरू र पापीहरूको मित्र हो ऊ।
35 तर कार्यहरूको आधारमा ज्ञान सही प्रमाणित हुन्छ।”
36 फरिसीहरूमध्ये एकले येशू संगै बसेर खानु निम्त्याए। उनी फरिसीको घरष्ठ्वमा गए अनि खानु बसे।
37 त्यो शहरमा एउटी पापी स्त्री थिई। त्यसले येशूलाई फरिसीको घरमा खाना खाएको थाहा पाई। त्यसले एउटा सिंगमरमरको भाडामा केही सुगन्धितबस्तु लिएर आई।
38 त्यो येशूको पछि चरण छेउमा रुँदैं उभिइ। त्यसले आफ्नो आँसुले येशूको चरण भिजाउनु थाली। त्यसले चरणमा म्वाँई खाई अनि सुगन्धित खनाइदिई।
39 त्यो फरिसी जसले पनि यी सब देखे। उसले मनमनै सोचे, “यदि यो मानिस अगमवक्ता हुँदो हो, उसले जान्ने थियो कि त्यो स्त्री जसले उसको पाऊ छुइरहेकी छे ऊ को हो अनि कुन स्तरकी हो? किनभने त्यो पापीनी हो।”
40 येशूले फरिसीलाई भन्नुभयो, “शिमोन, तिमीलाई मैले केही भन्नु छ।”शिमोनले भने, “तपाईंले मलाई के भन्नु चाहनुहुन्छ? गुरूज्यू!”
41 येशूले भन्नुभयो, “त्यहाँ दुईजना मानिस थिए। दुवैले एउटै साहुकार ऋण लिएका थिए। तिनीहरू मध्ये एकजनाले 500 चाँदीको सिक्का लिएका थिए। अर्काले 50 चाँदीको सिक्का लिएका थिए।
42 तिनीहरूकोमा त्यत्ति पैसा थिएन, यसले गर्दा तिनीहरू ती दुवैले ऋण चुक्ता गर्न सकेनन्। तर साहूकारले ती दुवैको ऋण मोचन गरिदियो। ती दुइजनाहरूमध्ये कसले त्यो साहुकारलाई धेरै माया गर्थ्यो होला?”
43 शिमोनले भन्यो, “ मेरो विचारमा जसले धेरै ऋण लगेको थियो त्यसलै उहाँलाई धेरै माया गर्थ्यो होला।”येशूले शिमोनलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रो कुरा ठीक हो।”
44 त्यसपछि उहाँले त्यस स्त्रीलाई हेरेर शिमोनलाई भन्नु भयो, “तिमिले यो स्त्रीलाई देख्यष्ठ्वौ? जब म तिम्रो घरमा आएँ, तिमीले मेरो खुट्टा धुन पानी दिएनौ। तर त्यसले मेरो खुट्टाहरू त्यसको आँसुले धोइ दिई अनि केश राशिले पुछिदिई।
45 तिमीले मलाई म्वाँई खाएनौ, तर उसले पुछिदिई।
46 तिमीले मेरो टाउकोमा तेल घसिदिएनौ, तर उसले मेरो चरणमा सुगन्ध दलिदिई।
47 यसकारण म तिमीलाई भन्दछु कि उसको धेरै पापाहरू क्षमा भयो। यति स्पष्ट छ कि उसले धेरै माया देखाई। जसलाई कम्ति पाप क्षमा गरिन्छ उसले कम्ती माया पोखाँउछ।”
48 त्यसपछि येशूले स्त्रीलाई भन्नु भयो, “तिम्रो पापहरू क्षमा भएको छ।”
49 खान बसेकाहरूले आपसमा भन्न लागे, “यस मानिसले आफैलाई को हो भनी ठान्छन? पापबाट पनि क्षमा गर्ने मानिस, यो को हो?”
50 येशूले त्यस स्त्रीलाई भन्नुभयो, “तिम्रो विश्वासले तिमीलाई रक्षा गरयो। अब तिमी शान्तिसाथ जाऊ।”
1 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.
2 And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.
3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.
4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:
5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
6 Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.
8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.
11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
17 And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
18 And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
24 And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
25 But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings’ courts.
26 But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
27 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
29 And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.
30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.
31 And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?
32 They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.
33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.
34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
35 But wisdom is justified of all her children.
36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to meat.
37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,
38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.
39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

1 इतने में जब हजारों की भीड़ लग गई, यहां तक कि एक दूसरे पर गिरे पड़ते थे, तो वह सब से पहिले अपने चेलों से कहने लगा, कि फरीसियों के कपटरूपी खमीर से चौकस रहना।
In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 कुछ ढपा नहीं, जो खोला न जाएगा; और न कुछ छिपा है, जो जाना न जाएगा।
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
3 इसलिये जो कुछ तुम ने अन्धेरे में कहा है, वह उजाले में सुना जाएगा: और जो तुम ने कोठिरयों में कानों कान कहा है, वह कोठों पर प्रचार किया जाएगा।
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
4 परन्तु मैं तुम से जो मेरे मित्र हो कहता हूं, कि जो शरीर को घात करते हैं परन्तु उसके पीछे और कुछ नहीं कर सकते उन से मत डरो।
And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5 मैं तुम्हें चिताता हूं कि तुम्हें किस से डरना चाहिए, घात करने के बाद जिस को नरक में डालने का अधिकार है, उसी से डरो : वरन मैं तुम से कहता हूं उसी से डरो।
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
6 क्या दो पैसे की पांच गौरैयां नहीं बिकतीं? तौभी परमेश्वर उन में से एक को भी नहीं भूलता।
Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 वरन तुम्हारे सिर के सब बाल भी गिने हुए हैं, सो डरो नहीं, तुम बहुत गौरैयों से बढ़कर हो।
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
8 मैं तुम से कहता हूं जो कोई मनुष्यों के साम्हने मुझे मान लेगा उसे मनुष्य का पुत्र भी परमेश्वर के स्वर्गदूतों के सामहने मान लेगा।
Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
9 परन्तु जो मनुष्यों के साम्हने मुझे इन्कार करे उसका परमेश्वर के स्वर्गदूतों के साम्हने इन्कार किया जाएगा।
But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
10 जो कोई मनुष्य के पुत्र के विरोध में कोई बात कहे, उसका वह अपराध क्षमा किया जाएगा , परन्तु जो पवित्र आत्मा की निन्दा करे उसका अपराध क्षमा न किया जायेगा ।
And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
11 जब लोग तुम्हें सभाओं और हाकिमों और अधिकारियों के साम्हने ले जाएं, तो चिन्ता न करना कि हम किस रीति से या क्या उत्तर दें, या क्या कहें।
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
12 क्योंकि पवित्र आत्मा उसी घड़ी तुम्हें सिखा देगा, कि क्या कहना चाहिए॥
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
13 फिर भीड़ में से एक ने उस से कहा, हे गुरू, मेरे भाई से कह, कि पिता की संपत्ति मुझे बांट दे।
And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
14 उस ने उस से कहा; हे मनुष्य, किस ने मुझे तुम्हारा न्यायी या बांटने वाला नियुक्त किया है?
And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15 और उस ने उन से कहा, चौकस रहो, और हर प्रकार के लोभ से अपने आप को बचाए रखो: क्योंकि किसी का जीवन उस की संपत्ति की बहुतायत से नहीं होता।
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16 उस ने उन से एक दृष्टान्त कहा, कि किसी धनवान की भूमि में बड़ी उपज हुई।
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 तब वह अपने मन में विचार करने लगा, कि मैं क्या करूं, क्योंकि मेरे यहां जगह नहीं, जहां अपनी उपज इत्यादि रखूं।
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 और उस ने कहा; मैं यह करूंगा: मैं अपनी बखारियां तोड़ कर उन से बड़ी बनाऊंगा;
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 और वहां अपना सब अन्न और संपत्ति रखूंगा: और अपने प्राण से कहूंगा, कि प्राण, तेरे पास बहुत वर्षों के लिये बहुत संपत्ति रखी है; चैन कर, खा, पी, सुख से रह।
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 परन्तु परमेश्वर ने उस से कहा; हे मूर्ख, इसी रात तेरा प्राण तुझ से ले लिया जाएगा: तब जो कुछ तू ने इकट्ठा किया है, वह किस का होगा?
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 ऐसा ही वह मनुष्य भी है जो अपने लिये धन बटोरता है, परन्तु परमेश्वर की दृष्टि में धनी नहीं॥
So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22 फिर उस ने अपने चेलों से कहा; इसलिये मैं तुम से कहता हूं, अपने प्राण की चिन्ता न करो, कि हम क्या खाएंगे; न अपने शरीर की कि क्या पहिनेंगे।
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 क्योंकि भोजन से प्राण, और वस्त्र से शरीर बढ़कर है।
The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 कौवों पर ध्यान दो; वे न बोते हैं, न काटते; न उन के भण्डार और न खत्ता होता है; तौभी परमेश्वर उन्हें पालता है; तुम्हारा मूल्य पक्षियों से कहीं अधिक है।
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 तुम में से ऐसा कौन है, जो चिन्ता करने से अपनी अवस्था में एक घड़ी भी बढ़ा सकता है?
And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 इसलिये यदि तुम सब से छोटा काम भी नहीं कर सकते, तो और बातों के लिये क्यों चिन्ता करते हो?
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 सोसनों के पेड़ों पर ध्यान करो कि वे कैसे बढ़ते हैं; वे न परिश्रम करते, न कातते हैं: तौभी मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि सुलैमान भी, अपने सारे विभव में, उन में से किसी एक के समान वस्त्र पहिने हुए न था।
Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 इसलिये यदि परमेश्वर मैदान की घास को जो आज है, और कल भाड़ में झोंकी जाएगी, ऐसा पहिनाता है; तो हे अल्प विश्वासियों, वह तुम्हें क्यों न पहिनाएगा?
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 और तुम इस बात की खोज में न रहो, कि क्या खाएंगे और क्या पीएंगे, और न सन्देह करो।
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 क्योंकि संसार की जातियां इन सब वस्तुओं की खोज में रहती हैं: और तुम्हारा पिता जानता है, कि तुम्हें इन वस्तुओं की आवश्यकता है।
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 परन्तु उसके राज्य की खोज में रहो, तो ये वस्तुऐं भी तुम्हें मिल जाएंगी।
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 हे छोटे झुण्ड, मत डर; क्योंकि तुम्हारे पिता को यह भाया है, कि तुम्हें राज्य दे।
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 अपनी संपत्ति बेचकर दान कर दो; और अपने लिये ऐसे बटुए बनाओ, जो पुराने नहीं होते, अर्थात स्वर्ग पर ऐसा धन इकट्ठा करो जो घटता नहीं और जिस के निकट चोर नहीं जाता, और कीड़ा नहीं बिगाड़ता।
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 क्योंकि जहां तुम्हारा धन है, वहां तुम्हारा मन भी लगा रहेगा॥
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35 तुम्हारी कमरें बन्धी रहें, और तुम्हारे दीये जलते रहें।
Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
36 और तुम उन मनुष्यों के समान बनो, जो अपने स्वामी की बाट देख रहे हों, कि वह ब्याह से कब लौटेगा; कि जब वह आकर द्वार खटखटाए, तुरन्त उसके लिये खोल दें।
And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
37 धन्य हैं वे दास, जिन्हें स्वामी आकर जागते पाए; मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि वह कमर बान्ध कर उन्हें भोजन करने को बैठाएगा, और पास आकर उन की सेवा करेगा।
Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
38 यदि वह रात के दूसरे पहर या तीसरे पहर में आकर उन्हें जागते पाए, तो वे दास धन्य हैं।
And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
39 परन्तु तुम यह जान रखो, कि यदि घर का स्वामी जानता, कि चोर किस घड़ी आएगा, तो जागता रहता, और अपने घर में सेंध लगने न देता।
And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
40 तुम भी तैयार रहो; क्योंकि जिस घड़ी तुम सोचते भी नहीं, उस घड़ी मनुष्य का पुत्र आ जावेगा।
Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
41 तब पतरस ने कहा, हे प्रभु, क्या यह दृष्टान्त तू हम ही से या सब से कहता है।
Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
42 प्रभु ने कहा; वह विश्वासयोग्य और बुद्धिमान भण्डारी कौन है, जिस का स्वामी उसे नौकर चाकरों पर सरदार ठहराए कि उन्हें समय पर सीधा दे।
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43 धन्य है वह दास, जिसे उसका स्वामी आकर ऐसा ही करते पाए।
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44 मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं; वह उसे अपनी सब संपत्ति पर सरदार ठहराएगा।
Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 परन्तु यदि वह दास सोचने लगे, कि मेरा स्वामी आने में देर कर रहा है, और दासों और दासियों मारने पीटने और खाने पीने और पियक्कड़ होने लगे।
But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 तो उस दास का स्वामी ऐसे दिन कि वह उस की बाट जोहता न रहे, और ऐसी घड़ी जिसे वह जानता न हो आएगा, और उसे भारी ताड़ना देकर उसका भाग अविश्वासियों के साथ ठहराएगा।
The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 और वह दास जो अपने स्वामी की इच्छा जानता था, और तैयार न रहा और न उस की इच्छा के अनुसार चला बहुत मार खाएगा।
And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 परन्तु जो नहीं जानकर मार खाने के योग्य काम करे वह थोड़ी मार खाएगा, इसलिये जिसे बहुत दिया गया है, उस से बहुत मांगा जाएगा, और जिसे बहुत सौंपा गया है, उस से बहुत मांगेंगें॥
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
49 मैं पृथ्वी पर आग लगाने आया हूं; और क्या चाहता हूं केवल यह कि अभी सुलग जाती !
I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
50 मुझे तो एक बपतिस्मा लेना है; और जब तक वह न हो ले तब तक मैं कैसी सकेती में रहूंगा?
But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
51 क्या तुम समझते हो कि मैं पृथ्वी पर मिलाप कराने आया हूं? मैं तुम से कहता हूं; नहीं, वरन अलग कराने आया हूं।
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52 क्योंकि अब से एक घर में पांच जन आपस में विरोध रखेंगे, तीन दो से दो तीन से।
For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 पिता पुत्र से, और पुत्र पिता से विरोध रखेगा; मां बेटी से, और बेटी मां से, सास बहू से, और बहू सास से विरोध रखेगी॥
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
54 और उस ने भीड़ से भी कहा, जब बादल को पच्छिम से उठते देखते हो, तो तुरन्त कहते हो, कि वर्षा होगी; और ऐसा ही होता है।
And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
55 और जब दक्खिना चलती दखते हो तो कहते हो, कि लू चलेगी, और ऐसा ही होता है।
And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
56 हे कपटियों, तुम धरती और आकाश के रूप में भेद कर सकते हो, परन्तु इस युग के विषय में क्यों भेद करना नहीं जानते?
Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
57 और तुम आप ही निर्णय क्यों नहीं कर लेते, कि उचित क्या है?
Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
58 जब तू अपने मुद्दई के साथ हाकिम के पास जा रहा है, तो मार्ग ही में उस से छूटने का यत्न कर ले ऐसा न हो, कि वह तुझे न्यायी के पास खींच ले जाए, और न्यायी तुझे प्यादे को सौंपे और प्यादा तुझे बन्दीगृह में डाल दे।
When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
59 मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि जब तक तू दमड़ी दमड़ी भर न देगा तब तक वहां से छूटने न पाएगा॥
I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
