यसैकारण यहोशूले मानिसहरूको खतना गरे। इस्राएलका मानिसहरूले मिश्रदेश छाडे पछि सबै मानिसहरू जो सेनामा रहन योग्यका थिए, खतना गरिदिए। यद्यपि मरूभूमिमा हुँदा धेरै जना लडाकू योद्धाहरूले परमप्रभुको आज्ञा पालन गरेनन्।
