अश्शूरका राजाले इस्राएलका राजा होशेको नवौं वर्षको अवधिमा सामरियालाई कब्जामा लिए। अश्शूरका राजाले धेरै इस्राएलीहरूलाई पक्रे र बन्दीको रूपमा अश्शूर लगे। उनले तिनीहरूलाई हलहमा गोजान, नदीको किनार हाबोर र माहीहरूका शहरहरूमा छोडी दिए।
