ശമൂവേൽ മരിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേൽ ഒക്കെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിച്ചു, രാമയിൽ അവന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നരികെ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. ദാവീദ് പുറപ്പെട്ടു പാരാൻ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ പോയി പാർത്തു.
