Judges 1:9
അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യെഹൂദാമക്കൾ മലനാട്ടിലും തെക്കെ ദേശത്തിലും താഴ്വീതിയിലും പാർത്തിരുന്ന കനാന്യരോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്വാൻ പോയി.

| against the Canaanites, | בַּֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑י | bakkĕnaʿănî | ba-keh-na-uh-NEE |
| dwelt that | יוֹשֵׁ֣ב | yôšēb | yoh-SHAVE |
| in the mountain, | הָהָ֔ר | hāhār | ha-HAHR |
| south, the in and | וְהַנֶּ֖גֶב | wĕhannegeb | veh-ha-NEH-ɡev |
| and in the valley. | וְהַשְּׁפֵלָֽה׃ | wĕhaššĕpēlâ | veh-ha-sheh-fay-LA |
