അങ്ങനെ അമേർയ്യർക്കു ഹർഹേരെസിലും അയ്യാലോനിലും ശാൽബീമിലും പാർപ്പാനുള്ള താല്പര്യം സാധിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ യോസേഫിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു ബലംകൂടിയപ്പോൾ അവരെ ഊഴിയ വേലക്കാരാക്കിത്തീർത്തു.

| hand the yet | וַתִּכְבַּד֙ | wattikbad | va-teek-BAHD |
| of the house | יַ֣ד | yad | yahd |
| of Joseph | בֵּית | bêt | bate |
| prevailed, | יוֹסֵ֔ף | yôsēp | yoh-SAFE |
| so that they became | וַיִּֽהְי֖וּ | wayyihĕyû | va-yee-heh-YOO |
