Job 21
1 അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
2 എന്റെ വാക്കു ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾപ്പിൻ; അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആശ്വാസമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.
3 നില്പിൻ, ഞാനും സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ; ഞാൻ സംസാരിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു നിനക്കു പരിഹസിക്കാം.
4 ഞാൻ സങ്കടം പറയുന്നതു മനുഷ്യനോടോ? എന്റെ ക്ഷമ അറ്റുപോകാതിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?
5 എന്നെ നോക്കി ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകുവിൻ; കൈകൊണ്ടു വായ്പൊത്തിക്കൊൾവിൻ.
6 ഓർക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഞെട്ടിപ്പോകുന്നു; എന്റെ ദേഹത്തിന്നു വിറയൽ പിടിക്കുന്നു.
7 ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു വാർദ്ധക്യം പ്രാപിക്കയും അവർക്കു ബലം വർദ്ധിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?
8 അവരുടെ സന്താനം അവരോടുകൂടെ അവരുടെ മുമ്പിലും അവരുടെ വംശം അവർ കാൺകെയും ഉറെച്ചു നില്ക്കുന്നു.
9 അവരുടെ വീടുകൾ ഭയം കൂടാതെ സുഖമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വടി അവരുടെമേൽ വരുന്നതുമില്ല.
10 അവരുടെ കാള ഇണചേരുന്നു, നിഷ്ഫലമാകുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ പശു കിടാവിടുന്നു കരു അഴിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
11 അവർ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെപ്പോലെ പുറത്തയക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ പൈതങ്ങൾ നൃത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
12 അവർ തപ്പോടും കിന്നരത്തോടുംകൂടെ പാടുന്നു; കുഴലിന്റെ നാദത്തിങ്കൽ സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു.
13 അവർ സുഖമായി നാൾ കഴിക്കുന്നു; മാത്രകൊണ്ടു പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങുന്നു.
14 അവർ ദൈവത്തോടു: ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോക; നിന്റെ വഴികളെ അറിവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല;
15 ഞങ്ങൾ സർവ്വശക്തനെ സേവിപ്പാൻ അവൻ ആർ? അവനോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചാൽ എന്തു പ്രയോജനം എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
16 എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ഭാഗ്യം അവർക്കു കൈവശമല്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന എന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
17 ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വിളക്കു കെട്ടുപോകുന്നതും അവർക്കു ആപത്തു വരുന്നതും ദൈവം കോപത്തിൽ കഷ്ടങ്ങളെ വിഭാഗിച്ചു കൊടുക്കുന്നതും എത്ര പ്രാവശ്യം!
18 അവർ കാറ്റിന്നു മുമ്പിൽ താളടിപോലെയും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു പറപ്പിക്കുന്ന പതിർപോലെയും ആകുന്നു.
19 ദൈവം അവന്റെ അകൃത്യം അവന്റെ മക്കൾക്കായി സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു; അവൻ അതു അനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു തന്നേ പകരം കൊടുക്കട്ടെ.
20 അവന്റെ സ്വന്ത കണ്ണു അവന്റെ നാശം കാണട്ടെ; അവൻ തന്നേ സർവ്വശക്തന്റെ ക്രോധം കുടിക്കട്ടെ;
21 അവന്റെ മാസങ്ങളുടെ സംഖ്യ അറ്റുപോയാൽ തന്റെശേഷം തന്റെ ഭവനത്തോടു അവനെന്തു താല്പര്യം?
22 ആരെങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തിന്നു ബുദ്ധിയുപദേശിക്കുമോ? അവൻ ഉന്നതന്മാരെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
23 ഒരുത്തൻ കേവലം സ്വൈരവും സ്വസ്ഥതയുമുള്ളവനായി തന്റെ പൂർണ്ണക്ഷേമത്തിൽ മരിക്കുന്നു.
24 അവന്റെ തൊട്ടികൾ പാലുകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിലെ മജ്ജ അയഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
25 മറ്റൊരുത്തൻ മനോവ്യസനത്തോടെ മരിക്കുന്നു; നന്മയൊന്നും അനുഭവിപ്പാൻ ഇടവരുന്നതുമില്ല.
26 അവർ ഒരുപോലെ പൊടിയിൽ കിടക്കുന്നു; കൃമി അവരെ മൂടുന്നു.
27 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ വിചാരങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ നേരെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന ഉപായങ്ങളെയും അറിയുന്നു.
28 പ്രഭുവിന്റെ ഭവനം എവിടെ? ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ പാർത്ത കൂടാരം എവിടെ എന്നല്ലോ നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നതു?
29 വഴിപോക്കരോടു നിങ്ങൾ ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ? അവരുടെ അടയാളങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?
30 അനർത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ ദുഷ്ടൻ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു; ക്രോധദിവസത്തിൽ അവർക്കു വിടുതൽ കിട്ടുന്നു.
31 അവന്റെ നടപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ആർ അവന്റെ മുഖത്തു നോക്കി പറയും? അവൻ ചെയ്തതിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം ആർ അവന്നു പകരം വീട്ടും?
32 എന്നാലും അവനെ ശ്മശാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; അവൻ കല്ലറെക്കൽ കാവൽനില്ക്കുന്നു.
33 താഴ്വരയിലെ കട്ട അവന്നു മധുരമായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ സകലമനുഷ്യരും ചെല്ലും; അവന്നു മുമ്പെ പോയവർക്കു എണ്ണമില്ല.
34 നിങ്ങൾ വൃഥാ എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരങ്ങളിൽ കപടം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.
1 But Job answered and said,
2 Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
3 Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
4 As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
5 Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
6 Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
8 Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
9 Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
10 Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
12 They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
13 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
14 Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
16 Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
17 How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
18 They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
19 God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
20 His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21 For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
22 Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
24 His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
25 And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
26 They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
28 For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
29 Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
31 Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
32 Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
33 The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
34 How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?

1 என் மகனே, என் போதகத்தை மறவாதே; உன் இருதயம் என் கட்டளைகளைக் காக்கக்கடவது.
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 அவைகள் உனக்கு நீடித்த நாட்களையும், தீர்க்காயுசையும், சமாதானத்தையும் பெருகப்பண்ணும்.
For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 கிருபையும் சத்தியமும் உன்னைவிட்டு விலகாதிருப்பதாக; நீ அவைகளை உன் கழுத்திலே பூண்டு, அவைகளை உன் இருதயமாகிய பலகையில் எழுதிக்கொள்.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 அதினால் தேவனுடைய பார்வையிலும் மனுஷருடைய பார்வையிலும் தயையும் நற்புத்தியும் பெறுவாய்.
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 உன் சுயபுத்தியின்மேல் சாயாமல், உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் கர்த்தரில் நம்பிக்கையாயிருந்து,
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 உன் வழிகளிலெல்லாம் அவரை நினைத்துக்கொள்; அப்பொழுது அவர் உன் பாதைகளைச் செவ்வைப்படுத்துவார்.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 நீ உன்னை ஞானியென்று எண்ணாதே; கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, தீமையை விட்டு விலகு.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
8 அது உன் நாபிக்கு ஆரோக்கியமும், உன் எலும்புகளுக்கு ஊனுமாகும்.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 உன் பொருளாலும், உன் எல்லா விளைவின் முதற்பலனாலும் கர்த்தரைக் கனம்பண்ணு.
Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 அப்பொழுது உன் களஞ்சியங்கள் பூரணமாய் நிரம்பும்; உன் ஆலைகளில் திராட்சரசம் புரண்டோடும்.
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 என் மகனே, நீ கர்த்தருடைய சிட்சையை அற்பமாக எண்ணாதே, அவர் கடிந்துகொள்ளும்போது சோர்ந்துபோகாதே.
My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:
12 தகப்பன் தான் நேசிக்கிற புத்திரனைச் சிட்சிக்கிறதுபோல, கர்த்தரும் எவனிடத்தில் அன்புகூருகிறாரோ அவனைச் சிட்சிக்கிறார்.
For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 ஞானத்தைக் கண்டடைகிற மனுஷனும், புத்தியைச் சம்பாதிக்கிற மனுஷனும் பாக்கியவான்கள்.
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 அதின் வர்த்தகம் வெள்ளி வர்த்தகத்திலும், அதின் ஆதாயம் பசும்பொன்னிலும் உத்தமமானது.
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 முத்துக்களைப்பார்கிலும் அது விலையேறப்பெற்றது; நீ இச்சிக்கத்தக்கதொன்றும் அதற்கு நிகரல்ல.
She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 அதின் வலது கையில் தீர்க்காயுசும், அதின் இடதுகையில் செல்வமும் கனமும் இருக்கிறது.
Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 அதின் வழிகள் இனிதான வழிகள், அதின் பாதைகளெல்லாம் சமாதானம்.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 அது தன்னை அடைந்தவர்கள`Ε்கு ஜீவவிருட்Κம், அதைப் பற்Ѡοக்கொள்ளுகிற எவனும் பாக்கியவான்.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
19 கர்த்தர் ஞானத்தினாலே பூமியை அஸ்திபாரப்படுத்தி, புத்தியினாலே வானங்களை ஸ்தாபித்தார்.
The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20 அவருடைய ஞானத்தினாலே ஆழங்கள் பிரிந்தது, ஆகாயமும் பனியைப்பெய்கிறது.
By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
21 என் மகனே, இவைகள் உன் கண்களை விட்டுப் பிரியாதிருப்பதாக; மெய்ஞ்ஞானத்தையும் நல்லாலோசனையையும் காத்துக்கொள்.
My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 அவைகள் உன் ஆத்துமாவுக்கு ஜீவனும், உன் கழுத்துக்கு அலங்காரமுமாயிருக்கும்.
So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 அப்பொழுது நீ பயமின்றி உன் வழியில் நடப்பாய், உன் கால் இடறாது.
Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 நீ படுக்கும்போது பயப்படாதிருப்பாய்; நீ படுத்துக்கொள்ளும்போது உன் நித்திரை இன்பமாயிருக்கும்.
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 சடிதியான திகிலும், துஷ்டர்களின் பாழ்க்கடிப்பும் வரும்போது நீ அஞ்சவேண்டாம்.
Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 கர்த்தர் உன் நம்பிக்கையாயிருந்து, உன் கால் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளாதபடி காப்பார்.
For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
27 நன்மைசெய்யும்படி உனக்குத் திராணியிருக்கும்போது, அதை செய்யத்தக்கவர்களுக்குச் செய்யாமல் இராதே.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28 உன்னிடத்தில் பொருள் இருக்கையில் உன் அயலானை நோக்கி: நீ போய்த் திரும்பவா, நாளைக்குத் தருவேன் என்று சொல்லாதே.
Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
29 அச்சமின்றி உன்னிடத்தில் வாசம்பண்ணுகிற உன் அயலானுக்கு விரோதமாக தீங்கு நினையாதே.
Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 ஒருவன் உனக்குத் தீங்குசெய்யாதிருக்க, காரணமின்றி அவனோடே வழக்காடாதே.
Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 கொடுமையுள்ளவன்மேல் பொறாமை கொள்ளாதே; அவனுடைய வழிகளிலொன்றையும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாதே.
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
32 மாறுபாடுள்ளவன் கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானவன்; நீதிமான்களோடே அவருடைய இரகசியம் இருக்கிறது.
For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.
33 துன்மார்க்கனுடைய வீட்டில் கர்த்தரின் சாபம் இருக்கிறது, நீதிமான்களுடைய வாசஸ்தலத்தையோ அவர் ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார்.
The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
34 இகழ்வோரை அவர் இகழுகிறார்; தாழ்மையுள்ளவர்களுக்கோ கிருபையளிக்கிறார்.
Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
35 ஞானவான்கள் கனத்தைச் சுதந்தரிப்பார்கள்; மதிகேடரோ கனவீனத்தை அடைவார்கள்.
The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
