Genesis 28:17
അവൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു: ഈ സ്ഥലം എത്ര ഭയങ്കരം! ഇതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നല്ല; ഇതു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ വാതിൽ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

| and said, | וַיֹּאמַ֔ר | wayyōʾmar | va-yoh-MAHR |
| How | מַה | ma | ma |
| dreadful | נּוֹרָ֖א | nôrāʾ | noh-RA |
| is this | הַמָּק֣וֹם | hammāqôm | ha-ma-KOME |
| place! | הַזֶּ֑ה | hazze | ha-ZEH |
| this | אֵ֣ין | ʾên | ane |
| is none | זֶ֗ה | ze | zeh |
| but other | כִּ֚י | kî | kee |
| אִם | ʾim | eem | |
| the house | בֵּ֣ית | bêt | bate |
| of God, | אֱלֹהִ֔ים | ʾĕlōhîm | ay-loh-HEEM |
| this and | וְזֶ֖ה | wĕze | veh-ZEH |
| is the gate | שַׁ֥עַר | šaʿar | SHA-ar |
| of heaven. | הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ | haššāmāyim | ha-sha-MA-yeem |
