1 Chronicles 10:7
അവർ ഓടിപ്പോയി; ശൌലും മക്കളും മരിച്ചു എന്നു താഴ്വരയിലുള്ള യിസ്രായേല്യരൊക്കെയും കണ്ടിട്ടു അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു ഓടിപ്പോയി; ഫെലിസ്ത്യർ വന്നു അവയിൽ പാർത്തു.

| Saul | מֵ֖תוּ | mētû | MAY-too |
| sons his and | שָׁא֣וּל | šāʾûl | sha-OOL |
| were dead, | וּבָנָ֑יו | ûbānāyw | oo-va-NAV |
| then they forsook | וַיַּֽעַזְב֤וּ | wayyaʿazbû | va-ya-az-VOO |
| their cities, | עָֽרֵיהֶם֙ | ʿārêhem | ah-ray-HEM |
| fled: and | וַיָּנֻ֔סוּ | wayyānusû | va-ya-NOO-soo |
| and the Philistines | וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ | wayyābōʾû | va-ya-VOH-oo |
| came | פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים | pĕlištîm | feh-leesh-TEEM |
| and dwelt | וַיֵּֽשְׁב֖וּ | wayyēšĕbû | va-yay-sheh-VOO |
