A Song of degrees.

1 சீயோனின் சிறையிருப்பைக் கர்த்தர் திருப்பும்போது சொப்பனம் காண்கிறவர்கள்போல் இருந்தோம்.
When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 அப்பொழுது நம்முடைய வாய் நகைப்பினாலும், நம்முடைய நாவு ஆனந்த சத்தத்தினாலும் நிறைந்திருந்தது; அப்பொழுது: கர்த்தர் இவர்களுக்குப் பெரிய காரியங்களைச் செய்தார் என்று புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

3 கர்த்தர் நமக்குப் பெரிய காரியங்களைச் செய்தார்; இதினிமித்தம் நாம் மகிழ்ந்திருக்கிறோம்.
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4 கர்த்தாவே, தெற்கத்தி வெள்ளங்களைத் திருப்புவதுபோல, எங்கள் சிறையிருப்பைத் திருப்பும்.
Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.

5 கண்ணீரோடே விதைக்கிறவர்கள் கெம்பீரத்தோடே அறுப்பார்கள்.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 அள்ளித்தூவும் விதையைச் சுமக்கிறவன் அழுதுகொண்டு போகிறான்; ஆனாலும் தான் அறுத்த அரிகளைச் சுமந்துகொண்டு கெம்பீரத்தோடே திரும்பிவருவான்.
He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
