அவன் மூன்றாந்தரம் அவர்களை நோக்கி: ஏன், இவன் என்ன பொல்லாப்புச் செய்தான்? மரணத்துக்கு ஏதுவான குற்றம் ஒன்றும் இவனிடத்தில் நான் காணவில்லையே; ஆகையால் நான் இவனைத் தண்டித்து, விடுதலையாக்குவேன் என்றான்.

Tamil Indian Revised Version
ராஜாவிற்கு விருப்பமிருந்தால், அவர்களை அழிக்கவேண்டுமென்று எழுதி அனுப்பவேண்டியது; அப்பொழுது நான் ராஜாவின் கருவூலத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து செலுத்த பத்தாயிரம் தாலந்து வெள்ளியை எண்ணி ராஜாவின் காரியத்தில் பொறுப்பாய் உள்ளவனுடைய கையில் கொடுப்பேன் என்றான்.

“இது அரசனுக்கு விருப்பமானதாக இருந்தால், நான் ஒரு கருத்து சொல்கிறேன். அந்த ஜனங்களை அழிப்பதற்கு எனக்கு ஒரு கட்டளைகொடும். நான் 10,000 வெள்ளிக் காசுகளை அரசனின் பொக்கிஷதாரரிடம் செலுத்திவிடுகிறேன். அப்பணத்தை இவ்வேலையைச் செய்பவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கலாம்” என்றான்.
