சமாதானபலிகளாக ஒரு காளையையும், ஒரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவையும், எண்ணெயிலே பிசைந்த போஜனபலியையும் கொண்டுவாருங்கள்; இன்று கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குத் தரிசனமாவார் என்று சொல் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது இல்க்கியாவின் மகனாகிய எலியாக்கீம் என்னும் அரண்மனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனும், செப்னா என்னும் எழுத்தனும், ஆசாப்பின் மகன் யோவாக் என்னும் கணக்காளனும் ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, எசேக்கியாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, ரப்சாக்கேயின் வார்த்தைகளை அவனுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்.

இல்க்கியா என்பவனின் மகனான எலியாக்கீம், (அரசனின் அரண்மனைக்குப் பொறுப்பானவன் எலியாக்கீம்.) செப்னா (செயலாளர்.) ஆகாப் என்பவனின் மகன் யோவாக் (பதிவேடுகள் பாதுகாப்பாளர்.) எல்லாரும் எசேக்கியாவிடம் வந்தார்கள். அவர்களின் ஆடைகள் கிழிந்தவை. (அவர்களின் துக்கத்தையும் கவலையையும் காட்டியது.) ஆசாரியன் தளபதி சொன்னதையெல்லாம் எசேக்கியாவிடம் அவர்கள் சொன்னார்கள்.
