Nehemiah 2:14
ಆಗ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯ ಬಾಗಲಿಗೂ ಅರಸನ ಕೊಳಕ್ಕೂ ಹಾದು ಬಂದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಹತ್ತಿದ ಪಶುವು ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಥಳವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು.

ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಇತರ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳೂ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವೂ ಅವನು ಕೆರೆಯನ್ನೂ ನಾಲೆ ಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಬರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸುಗಳ ವೃತಾಂತಗಳ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿದ್ರಿಸಿದನು;

ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನು ಲಾಕೀಷಿನಿಂದ ತರ್ತಾನ ನನ್ನೂ ರಬ್ಸಾರೀಸನನ್ನೂ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದಂಡನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀ ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅರಸನ ಹೊಲದ ರಾಜ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೆರೆಯ ಕಾಲುವೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು. ಅವರು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕರೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಈ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಗೀಹೋನೆಂಬ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕಾಲುವೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅದನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಕಾಲುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದಿ ದನು.
