ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೊತ್ತಿರು ವಾಗಲೇ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಬಂದು-- ಊಟಮಾಡು ಎಂದು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ದಾವೀದನು--ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಅಸ್ತಮಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ನಾನು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನಾ ದರೂ ಮತ್ತೇನಾದರೂ ರುಚಿ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ಹಾಗೇ ಮಾಡಲಿ, ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡ ಲೆಂದು ಆಣೆಇಟ್ಟು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಅದಕ್ಕವನು--ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು. ಏಲಿ ಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತೇನು? ನನಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಸಕಲ ವಾರ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಯಾವದನ್ನಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಿದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಿನಗೆ ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

ನಾನು ಸೌಲನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಆಣೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನು ದಾನಿನಿಂದ ಬೇರ್ಷೆಬದ ವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ
