ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶದ ಸೋಕೋ ವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಅಜೇಕಕ್ಕೂ ಸೋಕೋವಿಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಫೆಸ್ದವ್ಮೆಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಂಡಿಳಿದರು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಫಿಲಿ ಷ್ಟಿಯರು ತಗ್ಗಿನ ದೇಶದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೆಹೂ ದದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹೊಕ್ಕು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆ ಷನ್ನೂ ಅಯ್ಯಾಲೋನನ್ನೂ ಗೆದೇರೋತನ್ನೂ ಸೋಕೋವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಿಮ್ನಾ ವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗಿಮ್ಜೋವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಇವನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಪಸ್ದವ್ಮೆಾಮಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಜವೆಗೋಧಿ ತುಂಬಿರುವ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರುವಾಗ ಜನರು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು.

ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಹಾರದಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ಬೇತ್ಹೋರೋನಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ ಅಜೇಕ ಮಕ್ಕೇದದ ವರೆಗೂ ಹೊಡೆದನು.

ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಕ್ಕ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೂ ಅಂದರೆ ಲಾಕೀಷಿಗೂ ಅಜೇ ಕಕ್ಕೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗಲೇ ಹೇಳಿ ದನು. ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದವು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೌಲನು ಇದ್ದ ದಿವಸಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲವಾದ ಯುದ್ಧವು ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಸೌಲನು ಯಾವ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಧೈರ್ಯಶಾಲಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.

ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು.

ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಂದರೆಂದು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದರು.
