ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಗೆಷೂರಿನಿಂದ ಯಾಕೆ ಬಂದೆನೆಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಾ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೇಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆನು. ನಾನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ನಾನು ಅರಸನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ನೋಡಬೇಕು; ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಲಿ ಅಂದನು.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾವು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಂಸದ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತುಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಕಾಗುವಷ್ಟು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ಯನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಕರ್ತನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಸತ್ತುಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆದಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾಯಿಸುವಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈ ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಅಂದರು.
ವಿಮೋಚನಕಾಂಡ 14:12
ನಾವು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶ ದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗಲೇ--ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮ ಗೊಡವೆಗೆ ಬರಬೇಡ; ನಾವು ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡುವೆವು. ನಾವು ಅರಣ್ಯ ದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡು ವದು ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿತ್ತಲ್ಲವೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
