ತೆರಹನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ ಹಾರಾನನ ಮಗನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಲೋಟನನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸೊಸೆಯಾದ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಸಾರಯಳನ್ನೂ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಕಾನಾನ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗು ವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಲ್ದೀಯರ ಊರ್ ಅನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅವರು ಹಾರಾನಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

ಆದಿಕಾಂಡ 24:10
ಆಗ ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಒಂಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತು ಒಂಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು. ಅವನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ನಾಹೋರನ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಮೆಸೊಪೊತಾಮ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
ಆದಿಕಾಂಡ 15:7
ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಲ್ದೀಯರ ಊರ್ನಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಾನೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಹೀಗೆ ಕರ್ತನು ತನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು. ಲೋಟನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋದನು. ಅಬ್ರಾಮನು ಹಾರಾನಿ ನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟಾಗ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
ಯೆಹೋಶುವ 24:2
ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೆ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಪೂರ್ವ ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಗಳು, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೂ ನಾಹೋ ರನೂ ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ತೆರಹನೂ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಆದಿಕಾಂಡ 11:32
ತೆರಹನ ದಿನಗಳು ಒಟ್ಟು ಇನ್ನೂರ ಐದು ವರುಷಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ತರುವಾಯ ತೆರಹನು ಹಾರಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತನು.

ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಕರೆಯ ಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ ವಿಧೇಯನಾಗಿ ತಾನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದ ಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು; ತಾನು ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಯಾವದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಹೊರಟನು.

ಯಾಕೋಬನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರೇ, ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯವರು ಅಂದಾಗ ಅವರು--ನಾವು ಖಾರಾನಿನವರು ಅಂದರು.

ಅವನು ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, ಇಗೋ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಹೋದರ ನಾದ ನಾಹೋರನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಮಿಲ್ಕಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆತೂವೇಲನಿಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ರೆಬೆಕ್ಕಳು ತನ್ನ ಕೊಡವನ್ನು ಹೆಗಲಿನ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದಳು.

ತೆರಹನು ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ವರುಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವ ನಿಂದ ಅಬ್ರಾಮನೂ ನಾಹೋರನೂ ಹಾರಾನನೂ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು.
