Luke 23
1 ಆಗ ಜನಸಮೂಹವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಎದ್ದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಪಿಲಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
2 ಅವರು ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿ--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪು ದಾರಿಗೆ ನಡಿಸುವನಾಗಿ ತಾನೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂಬ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದನೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳಿ ಕೈಸರನಿಗೆ ಕಂದಾಯ ಕೊಡದಂತೆ ಇವನು ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವದನ್ನು ನಾವು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇವೆಅಂದರು.
3 ಆಗ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಆತನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ ಅಂದನು.
4 ತರುವಾಯ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಪ್ರಧಾ ನಯಾಜಕರಿಗೂ ಜನರಿಗೂ--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಯಾವ ತಪ್ಪನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
5 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಉಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ--ಈತನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದ ವರೆಗೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೂದಾ ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಜನರನ್ನು ರೇಗಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
6 ಪಿಲಾತನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದ ವಿಷಯ ವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿ--ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಗಲಿಲಾಯದವನೋ ಎಂದು ಅವನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ
7 ಆತನು ಹೆರೋದನ ಅಧಿಕಾರದ ವಿಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದ ಹೆರೋದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
8 ಹೆರೋದನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಆತನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವಂತೆ ಬಹಳ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಆಶೆಪಟ್ಟಿ ದ್ದನು. ಆತನಿಂದಾಗುವ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡ ಲು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
9 ಆಗ ಅವನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
10 ಆಗ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರೂ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳೂ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಉಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
11 ಹೆರೋದನು ತನ್ನ ಯುದ್ಧಭಟರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡಿ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಶೋಭಾಯಮಾನವಾದ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಪಿಲಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ದನು.
12 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಹೆರೋದನು ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಾದರು; ಯಾಕಂ ದರೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲು ಹಗೆತನವಿತ್ತು.
13 ಪಿಲಾತನು ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ನ್ನೂ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಕರೆಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--
14 ಜನರು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನೀವು ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ; ಇಗೋ, ನೀವು ಈತನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಂದಿರುವ ದೂರುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಈತನಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಯಾವ ತಪ್ಪೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ.
15 ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೆರೋದ ನಿಗೆ ಸಹ ಯಾವದೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆನು; ಇಗೋ, ಅವನೂ ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೇನೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ.
16 ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹೊಡಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
17 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹಬ್ಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಬಿಡಿಸು ವದು ಅವಶ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು).
18 ಆಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣವೇ--ಈತನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿ ನಮಗೆ ಬರಬ್ಬ ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
19 (ಬರಬ್ಬನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಒಂದಾನೊಂದು ದಂಗೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಲೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪ ಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು).
20 ಆದದರಿಂದ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಯೇಸು ವನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು.
21 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು--ಅವನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸು, ಅವನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸು ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
22 ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಮೂರನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಅವ ರಿಗೆ--ಯಾಕೆ? ಈತನು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದೇನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ? ಈತನಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದದ್ದೇನೂ ನನಗೆ ಕಾಣ ಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಈತನನ್ನು ಹೊಡಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಿಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
23 ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರು ಮಹಾಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಕೂಗಾಟವೂ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರ ಕೂಗಾಟವೂ ಗೆದ್ದಿತು.
24 ಆಗ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಂತೆ ಆಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದನು.
25 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಇಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟವ ನನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ದಂಗೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಲೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಅವರ ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.
26 ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿ ರುವಾಗ ಹೊಲದಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕುರೇನ್ಯದವನಾದ ಸೀಮೋನನೆಂಬವನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಿಲು ಬೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
27 ಆಗ ಜನರ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗುಂಪೂ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೂ ಆತನಿ ಗಾಗಿ ಶೋಕಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾ ಲಿಸಿದರು.
28 ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೊಂಡು--ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರೇ, ನನ ಗಾಗಿ ಅಳಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಆದರೆ ನಿಮಗಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಅಳಿರಿ.
29 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಬಂಜೆಯರೂ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗದವರೂ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಮೊಲೆ ಕುಡಿಸದವರೂ ಧನ್ಯರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತವೆ.
30 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳಿರಿ; ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಿಗೆ-- ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸು ವರು.
31 ಅವರು ಹಸಿರಾಗಿರುವ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಒಣಗಿದ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಿಯಾರು ಅಂದನು.
32 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಿಗಳಾದ ಬೇರೆ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಆತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೊಲ್ಲುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.
33 ಅವರು ಕಲ್ವಾರಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಆ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಎಡಗಡೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದರು.
34 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು--ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ತಾವು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆಂದು ಅವರು ಅರಿಯರು ಅಂದನು. ಅವರು ಆತನ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಪಾಲು ಮಾಡಿ ಚೀಟು ಹಾಕಿದರು.
35 ಜನರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿ ದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಆತ ನಿಗೆ ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿ--ಈತನು ಬೇರೆಯವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿದನು; ಇವನು ದೇವರು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಾಗಿ ದ್ದರೆ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಅಂದರು.
36 ಸೈನಿ ಕರು ಸಹ ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಹುಳಿರಸವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು
37 ಆತನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀನೇ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೋ ಅಂದರು.
38 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನ ಮೇಲ್ಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ--ಈತನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು ಎಂಬ ಮೇಲ್ಬರಹವು ಸಹ ಗ್ರೀಕ್‌ ಲ್ಯಾಟಿನ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ಇಬ್ರಿಯ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು.
39 ತೂಗುಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಆತನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿ--ನೀನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
40 ಆದರೆ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ--ನೀನು ಇದೇ ದಂಡನೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಯೂ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
41 ನಾವಂತೂ ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ; ಈತನಾದರೋ ತಪ್ಪಾದದ್ದೇನೂ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
42 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಯೇಸು ವಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೆನಪು ಮಾಡಿಕೋ ಅಂದನು.
43 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ದಿನವೇ ನೀನು ನನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪರದೈಸಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
44 ಆಗ ಸುಮಾರು ಆರನೇತಾಸಾಗಿತ್ತು; ಒಂಭತ್ತನೇ ತಾಸಿನವರೆಗೆ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕತ್ತಲೆ ಕವಿಯಿತು.
45 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಕತ್ತಲಾದನು; ದೇವಾಲಯದ ತೆರೆಯು ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿಯಿತು.
46 ಯೇಸು ಮಹಾಧ್ವನಿಯಿಂದ--ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು; ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತನು ಪ್ರಾಣಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
47 ಆಗ ಶತಾಧಿ ಪತಿಯು ನಡೆದದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ--ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಈತನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
48 ಆ ನೋಟಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ನಡೆದ ಸಂಭವಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ತಮ್ಮ ಎದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಡುಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದರು.
49 ಆತನಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯವಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ದಿಂದ ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೂ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
50 ಆಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಸೇಫನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು; ಅವನು ಆಲೋಚನಾ ಸಭೆಯವನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನೂ ನೀತಿವಂತನೂ ಆಗಿ ದ್ದನು.
51 ಇವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಅರಿಮ ಥಾಯದವನೂ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎದುರು ನೋಡು ವವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು. (ಅವನು ಅವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗೂ ಕೃತ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.)
52 ಇವನು ಪಿಲಾತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ದೇಹಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿ ಕೊಂಡನು.
53 ಇವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೆಳಗೆ ಇಳಿಸಿ ನಾರು ಬಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುತ್ತಿ ಬಂಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೋಡಿದ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಮೊದಲು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
54 ಸಬ್ಬತ್ತಿಗೆ ಸವಿಾಪವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಆ ದಿನವು ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯ ದಿನವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
55 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಗಲಿಲಾಯದಿಂದ ಆತ ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಹ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಸಮಾಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ಆ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನ ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಇಟ್ಟರೆಂಬದನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿದರು.
56 ಅವರು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿದವರಾಗಿ ಪರಿಮಳ ದ್ಯವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸುಗಂಧ ತೈಲವನ್ನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಜ್ಞಾನು ಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ತಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
1 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate.
2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King.
3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.
4 Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man.
5 And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place.
6 When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean.
7 And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time.
8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.
10 And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.
11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.
12 And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves.
13 And Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:
15 No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo, nothing worthy of death is done unto him.
16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him.
17 (For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.)
18 And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas:
19 (Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.)
20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.
21 But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.
22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.
23 And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
24 And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required.
25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
26 And as they led him away, they laid hold upon one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might bear it after Jesus.
27 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
28 But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
29 For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?
32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death.
33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,
37 And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.
48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.
50 And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counseller; and he was a good man, and a just:
51 (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.
52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.
54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.
56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

1 ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯವಾದ ಜನಸಮೂಹವು ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮೇಲೊಬ್ಬರು ತುಳಿದಾಡುವಷ್ಟು ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿ ಬಂದಿರಲಾಗಿ ಆತನು ಎಲ್ಲಾದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ--ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಕಪಟವೆಂಬ ಹುಳಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ.
In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗದಂತೆ ಯಾವದೂ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿರು ವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವದಕ್ಕಾಗದಂತೆ ಯಾವದೂ ಗುಪ್ತವಾಗಿರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
3 ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವದನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದೀರೋ ಅದು ಬೆಳಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳಲ್ಪಡುವದು; ಕೋಣೆಗಳೊಳಗೆ ನೀವು ಕಿವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದು ಮಾಳಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸ ಲ್ಪಡುವದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
4 ನನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಾದ ನಿಮಗೆ ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚೇನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರ ದವರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ.
And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5 ಆದರೆ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಭಯಪಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಕೊಂದಮೇಲೆ ನರಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವಿರುವಾತನಿಗೇ ಭಯಪಡಿರಿ; ಹೌದು, ಆತನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
6 ಎರಡು ಕಾಸುಗಳಿಗೆ ಐದು ಗುಬ್ಬಿಗಳು ಮಾರಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತವಲ್ಲಾ? ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾದರೂ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಮರೆತುಹೋಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
7 ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಯ ಕೂದಲುಗಳು ಸಹ ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನೀವು ಬಹಳ ಗುಬ್ಬಿಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
8 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾನೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮನು ಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಕುಮಾರನು ಸಹ ದೇವದೂತರ ಮುಂದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
9 ಆದರೆ ಯಾವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯುವನೋ ಅವನು ದೇವದೂತರ ಮುಂದೆ ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವನು.
But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
10 ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸ ಲ್ಪಡುವದು; ಆದರೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಾತ್ಮನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದೂಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಲ್ಪ ಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
11 ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಭಾ ಮಂದಿರಗಳಿಗೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ತಂದಾಗ ಹೇಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಯಾವದನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಏನು ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸಬೇಡಿರಿ.
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
12 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅದೇ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಾತ್ಮನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕಲಿಸುವನು ಅಂದನು.
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
13 ಆಗ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಬೋಧ ಕನೇ, ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಾಲುಮಾಡಿ ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳು ಅಂದನು.
And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
14 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಪಾಲುಮಾಡುವ ವನನ್ನಾಗಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರು ಮಾಡಿದರು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಜಾಗ್ರತೆ ಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ಲೋಭಕ್ಕೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಾದ ಆಸ್ತಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಜೀವಾಧಾರವಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16 ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಒಬ್ಬಾ ನೊಬ್ಬ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯಿತು.
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 ಆಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ--ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಲಿ? ನನಗಿರುವ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿ ಅವನು--
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 ನಾನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನನ್ನ ಕಣಜಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ದೊಡ್ಡವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಸರಕುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಟು
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ--ಆತ್ಮವೇ, ಅನೇಕ ವರುಷ ಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಸರಕು ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ; ನೀನು ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೋ, ತಿನ್ನು, ಕುಡಿ ಆನಂದವಾಗಿರು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನೇ, ಈ ರಾತ್ರಿಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಕೇಳಲ್ಪಡುವದು; ಆಗ ನೀನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವುಗಳು ಯಾರಿಗಾಗುವವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂಡು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗ ದಿರುವವನು ಇವನಂತೆಯೇ ಇರುವನು ಅಂದನು.
So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22 ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಹೊದ್ದು ಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಚಿಂತೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 ಊಟಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣವೂ ವಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕಿಂತ ದೇಹವೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನದು.
The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 ಕಾಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿರಿ; ಅವು ಬಿತ್ತುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಕೊಯ್ಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಉಗ್ರಾಣವಾಗಲೀ ಕಣಜವಾಗಲೀ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ದೇವರು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ನೀವು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ.
Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವನು ಚಿಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ನೀಳಕ್ಕೆ ಒಂದು ಮೊಳವನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಯಾನು?
And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಅತ್ಯಲ್ಪವಾಗಿರುವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಮಾಡಲಾರದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಉಳಿದವುಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನೀವು ಚಿಂತೆಮಾಡುವದೇನು?
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 ಹೂವುಗಳು ಹೇಗೆ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತವೆ ಯೋಚಿಸಿರಿ; ಅವು ಕಷ್ಟಪಡು ವದಿಲ್ಲ, ನೂಲುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಸೊಲೊಮೋ ನನು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವೈಭವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹ ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದರಂತೆಯಾದರೂ ಧರಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 ಓ ಅಲ್ಪ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳೇ, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಈಹೊತ್ತು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ನಾಳೆ ಒಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಲ್ಪಡುವ ಹುಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ದೇವರು ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಉಡಿಸಿದರೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಉಡಿಸುವನಲ್ಲವೇ?
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 ನೀವು ಏನು ತಿನ್ನಬೇಕು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನೀವು ಏನು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತವಕಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ನೀವು ಅನುಮಾನದ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನವ ರಾಗಿರಬೇಡಿರಿ.
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಲೋಕದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ತವಕಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದರೆ ಇವುಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಬಲ್ಲನು.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಹುಡುಕಿರಿ. ಆಗ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವುಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವವು.
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹಿಂಡೇ, ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಸಂತೋಷವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 ನಿಮಗಿರು ವದನ್ನು ಮಾರಿ ದಾನಮಾಡಿರಿ; ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಹಳೇದಾಗದಂಥ ಚೀಲಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗದಂಥ ಸಂಪತ್ತನ್ನೂ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳನು ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ನುಸಿಯು ಕೆಡಿಸು ವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವು ಸಹ ಇರುವದು.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35 ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಡುಗಳು ಕಟ್ಟಿರಲಿ; ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೀಪಗಳು ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿರಲಿ.
Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
36 ನೀವಂತೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನು ಮದುವೆಯಿಂದ ಯಾವಾಗ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವನೋ ಎಂದು ಕಾಯುವ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನು ಬಂದು ತಟ್ಟಿದಾಗ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತೆರೆಯುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಂತೆ ಇರ್ರಿ.
And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
37 ಒಡೆಯನು ಬಂದಾಗ ಯಾರು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿರುವದನ್ನು ಅವನು ಕಾಣುವನೋ ಆ ಸೇವಕರು ಧನ್ಯರು; ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಅವನು ಬಂದು ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡ್ರಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಾನೇ ಉಪಚರಿಸುವನು.
Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
38 ಅವನು ಎರಡನೇ ಜಾವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಮೂರನೇ ಜಾವದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕಂಡರೆ ಆ ಸೇವಕರು ಧನ್ಯರು.
And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
39 ಕಳ್ಳನು ಯಾವಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ನೆಂಬದು ಮನೇ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಿದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಾಕೊರೆಯ ಗೊಡಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬದನ್ನು ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
40 ಆದ ಕಾರಣ ನೀವು ಸಹ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀವು ನೆನಸದ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
41 ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನೀನು ಈ ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀಯೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀಯೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ
Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
42 ಕರ್ತನು--ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ತಕ್ಕಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಪಾಲಿನ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಒಡೆಯನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸುವ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನೂ ವಿವೇಕಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಮನೇವಾರ್ತೆಯವನು ಯಾರು?
And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43 ತನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಬಂದಾಗ ಯಾವನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವದನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವನೋ ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ಧನ್ಯನು;
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44 ಅವನು ತನಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವನು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 ಆದರೆ ಆ ಸೇವಕನು--ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಬರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತಡಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡು ಗಂಡಾಳು ಹೆಣ್ಣಾಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆಯು ವದಕ್ಕೂ ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿದು ಮತ್ತನಾಗುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರೆ
But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 ಅವನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸದ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತಿಳಿಯದ ಗಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆ ಸೇವಕನ ಒಡೆಯನು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿ ಛೇದಿಸಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಲ್ಲದವರ ಕೂಡ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡುವನು.
The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಚಿತ್ತವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನ ಚಿತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದ ಸೇವಕನು ಬಹಳ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವನು.
And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 ಆದರೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಗಳಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಮಾಡಿದವನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಪೆಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಯಾವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆಯೋ ಅವನಿಂದ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕೇಳಲ್ಪಡು ವದು; ಯಾವನಿಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿರುವರೋ ಅವನಿಂದ ಅವರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕೇಳುವ
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
49 ನಾನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದೆನು; ಅದು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಹೊತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ ಮತ್ತೇನು ನನಗೆ ಬೇಕು?
I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
50 ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಒಂದು ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಉಂಟು; ಅದು ನೆರವೇರುವ ತನಕ ನಾನು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೇನೆ!
But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
51 ನಾನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇ ನೆಂದು ನೀವು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೀರೋ? ಇಲ್ಲ, ಭೇದವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
52 ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐದುಮಂದಿ ಭೇದವಾಗಿ ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮೂವರು ಮೂವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಇರುವರು.
For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
53 ಮಗನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಂದೆಯೂ ತಂದೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಗನೂ ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಾಯಿಯೂ ತಾಯಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಗಳೂ ತನ್ನ ಸೊಸೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತೆಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಅತ್ತೆಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಸೊಸೆಯೂ ವಿಭಾಗಿಸ ಲ್ಪಡುವರು.
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
54 ಆತನು ಇನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಏಳುವ ಮೋಡವನ್ನು ನೋಡು ವಾಗ--ಮಳೆ ಬರುವದೆಂದು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆಗುವದು.
And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.
55 ದಕ್ಷಿಣಗಾಳಿ ಬೀಸುವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನೋಡುವಾಗ--ಸೆಕೆಯಾಗುವದು ಎಂದು ನೀವು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ, ಅದು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ.
And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.
56 ಕಪಟಿಗಳೇ, ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳ ಭಾವವನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀರಿ; ಆದರೆ ಈ ಕಾಲವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಅರಿತು ಕೊಳ್ಳದಿರುವದು ಹೇಗೆ?
Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
57 ಹೌದು, ನಿಮ್ಮಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ?
Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
58 ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಎದುರಾಳಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ನ್ಯಾಯಾ ಧಿಪತಿಯ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅವನಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಮಾಡು; ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಲವಂತವಾಗಿ ಎಳೆದಾನು; ಆಗ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿ ಪತಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಾನು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೆ
When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.
59 ನೀನು ಕೊನೆಯ ಕಾಸನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವವರೆಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬರುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
