Leviticus 14:4
ಆಗ ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಿಗೊಸ್ಕರ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ಶುದ್ಧವಾದ ಎರಡು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದೇವದಾರು ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ತವರ್ಣ ವುಳ್ಳ ದಾರವನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಹಿಸ್ಸೋಪನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳು ವಂತೆ ಯಾಜಕನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಬೇಕು.

ಹಿಸ್ಸೋಪ್ನಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊಳೆ; ಆಗ ನಾನು ಶುಚಿಯಾಗುವೆನು. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೊಳೆ, ಆಗ ಹಿಮಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಬಿಳುಪಾಗುವೆನು.
Exodus 12:22
ಹಿಸ್ಸೋಪಿನ ಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬೋಗುಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಕ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಅದ್ದಿ ಬಾಗಿ ಲಿನ ಮೇಲಿನ ಅಡ್ಡಗಂಬಕ್ಕೂ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎರಡು ನಿಲುವುಗಂಬಗಳಿಗೂ ಹಚ್ಚಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಬೆಳಗಾಗುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಬಾರದು.

ಪವಿತ್ರನಾದವನೊಬ್ಬನು ಹಿಸ್ಸೋಪನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ ಆ ಡೇರೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಎಲುಬನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸತ್ತವನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸಮಾಧಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮುಟ್ಟಿದವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಬೇಕು.

ಆ ಮನೆ ಯನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಪಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೊಸ್ಕರ ಎರಡು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ದೇವದಾರು ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ತವರ್ಣವುಳ್ಳ ದಾರವನ್ನೂ ಹಿಸ್ಸೋಪನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

ಅವಳು ಕುರಿಮರಿಯನ್ನು ತರಲು ಅಶಕ್ತಳಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಪಾಪದ ಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಎರಡು ಬೆಳವಗಳನ್ನು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎರಡು ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನು ತರಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾಜಕನು ಅವಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತಮಾಡಬೇಕು, ಆಗ ಅವಳು ಶುದ್ಧಳಾಗುವಳು.
Leviticus 5:7
ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಕುರಿಮರಿಯನ್ನು ತರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಶಕ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಪರಾಧಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎರಡು ಬೆಳವಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎರಡು ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಮರಿ ಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ತರಬೇಕು; ಒಂದನ್ನು ಪಾಪದ ಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೊಂದನ್ನು ದಹನಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ತರಬೇಕು.

ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವ ದಹನಬಲಿಯು ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜ್ಞಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೆಳವಕ್ಕಿಯ ನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಪಾರಿವಾಳದ ಮರಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತರಬೇಕು.
