ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗೆದಲ್ಯನನ್ನು ನೆತನ್ಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದ್ದ ರಿಂದಲೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರು.

ಯೆರೆಮಿಯ 42:16
ಆಗ ಆಗುವದೇನಂದರೆ --ನೀವು ಭಯಪಡುವ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ಆ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವದು; ನೀವು ಹೆದರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕ್ಷಾಮವು ಆ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವದು, ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ.
