ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಬೆಲಿಗೆ ತಾನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಾಗಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--

ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನ ಕೈ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮೋಟುಗೈಯಲ್ಲ. ಆತನ ಕಿವಿ ಕೇಳ ಲಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಿವುಡಲ್ಲ.

ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂಬನ್ನು ಊದಿದರೆ ಜನರು ಹೆದರುವದಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಡು ಇರು ವದಾದರೆ ಅದು ಕರ್ತನಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ?
