ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಮಾಸೇ ಯನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಚೆಫನ್ಯನಿಗೂ ಯಾಜಕರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ?

ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕ ನಾದ ಚೆಫನ್ಯನು ಈ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನ ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಹೇಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಟೋಬೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಪತ್ರ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಟೋಬೀಯನ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬಂದವು.

ಐದನೇ ಸಾರಿ ಸನ್ಬಲ್ಲಟನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನ ಕೈ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆರೆದಿರುವ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

ಆದರೆ ಅರ್ತಷಸ್ತನ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಷ್ಲಾಮನೂ ಮಿತ್ರದಾತನೂ ಟಾಬೆಯೇಲನೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ಅವರ ಜತೆಗಾರರೂ ಪಾರಸಿಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆರ್ತಷಸ್ತನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದರು. ಬರೆದ ಆ ಪತ್ರವು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಟೀಕಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು, ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅಕ್ಷರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವ ದಕ್ಕೂ ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದನು. ಏನಂದರೆ--ಇತರ ದೇಶಗಳ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೇಗೆ ಬಿಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಲಾರನು.

ಹೀಗೆ ಅವಳು ಅಹಾ ಬನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವನ ಮುದ್ರೆ ಹಾಕಿ ಆ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಬೋತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಅವನ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಹಿರಿಯ ರಿಗೂ ಗೌರವಸ್ಥರಿಗೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಳು.
