Genesis 42:37
ರೂಬೇನನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ--ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಾರದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಕುಮಾರರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಬಿಡು. ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು. ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿ ತರುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

ನಿನ್ನ ದಾಸನಾದ ನಾನು ಆ ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಣೆ ಯಾಗಿ--ಅವನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಾರದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ದೋಷಿಯಾಗಿರುವೆ ನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

ಸಾವಿರ ಟಗರುಗಳಿಗಾದರೂ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯ ಹತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ನದಿಗಳಿಗಾದರೂ ಕರ್ತನು ಮೆಚ್ಚು ವನೋ? ನನ್ನ ದ್ರೋಹಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲ ಮಗ ನನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮದ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭದ ಫಲ ವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಲೋ?
