ಅದು ಸಮು ದ್ರದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿ ರುವದು; ನಾನೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅದು ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆ ಯಾಗಿರುವದು,

ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಾಚಿ, ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಜನಗಳೊಳಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಡಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟು ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿ ಸಂಹಾರ ಮಾಡುವೆನು, ಆಗ ನಾನೇ ಕರ್ತನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುವಿ.

ಅವರು ಗೋಳಾಡುತ್ತಾ ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಶೋಕ ಗೀತವನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸುವರು--ಸಮುದ್ರದ ನಡುವೆ ಹಾಳಾಗಿರುವ ತೂರಿನಂತ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಯಾವದು?

ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಂಡೆಯ ತುದಿ ಯಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ನೀನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲೆ ಹಾಸುವ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗುವಿ. ಇನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕಂ ದರೆ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ನಾನೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹಾಗೆ ಹಾಳಾದ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನೀರು ಮುಚ್ಚುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಗಾಧವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
