Deuteronomy 28:13
ನಾನು ಈಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ಕೈಕೊಂಡರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಾಲವನ್ನಲ್ಲ, ತಲೆಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವನು; ನೀನು ಕೆಳಗಲ್ಲ, ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಇರುವಿ.

ಹೀಗಿರುವ ದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಇರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಜ್ಞಾನವೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿವೇಕವೂ ಇದೇ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಅವರು ಈ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ--ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜನಾಂಗವು ಜ್ಞಾನವೂ ವಿವೇಕವೂ ಉಳ್ಳ ಜನವಾಗಿದೆ ಅನ್ನುವರು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಿಂದ ತಲೆಬಾಲಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂಬೆ ರೆಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಹಾಕುವನು.
