ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗ 27
1 ನಾವು ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಇತಾಲ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಔಗುಸ್ತನ ಪಟಾಲಮಿನ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಯೂಲ್ಯ ಎಂಬವನಿಗೆ ಪೌಲನನ್ನೂ ಬೇರೆ ಕೆಲವು ಕೈದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅವರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
2 ನಾವು ಆಸ್ಯದ ತೀರಗಳ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡ ಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಅದ್ರಮಿತ್ತಿಯ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆವು ಆಗ ಥೆಸಲೊನೀಕದ ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯದವನಾದ ಅರಿ ಸ್ತಾರ್ಕನು ನಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದನು.
3 ನಾವು ಮರುದಿನ ಸೀದೋನಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದೆವು; ಆಗ ಯೂಲ್ಯನು ದಯೆ ತೋರಿಸಿ ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
4 ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಾವು ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಎದುರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಇದ್ದದ ರಿಂದ ಕುಪ್ರದ ಮರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿದೆವು.
5 ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾವು ಕಿಲಿಕ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಪುಲ್ಯದ ಸಮುದ್ರಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ ಲುಕೀಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾದ ಮುರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆವು.
6 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇತಾಲ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡುವ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂದ್ರಿಯದ ಒಂದು ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಕಂಡು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿಸಿದನು.
7 ನಾವು ಅನೇಕ ದಿವಸ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಸಾಗಿದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಎದುರುಗಾಳಿಯ ದೆಸೆ ಯಿಂದ ಸಲ್ಮೊನೆಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಕ್ರೇತದ ಮರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದೆವು;
8 ಅದನ್ನು ದಾಟುವದು ಕಷ್ಟವಾದದರಿಂದ ಚಂದರೇವುಗಳೆಂಬ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿ ದೆವು; ಲಸಾಯವೆಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಸವಿಾಪವಾಗಿದೆ.
9 ಹೀಗೆ ಬಹುಕಾಲ ಕಳೆದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಪವಾಸದ ಸಮಯವು ಆಗಲೇ ದಾಟಿಹೋದದರಿಂದ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು ಅಪಾಯಕರವಾದಾಗ ಪೌಲನು ಅವ ರನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾ--
10 ಅಯ್ಯಗಳಿರಾ, ಈ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು ಸರಕಿಗೂ ಹಡಗಿಗೂ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ನಷ್ಟವನ್ನೂ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವಂತದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ತೋರು ತ್ತದೆ.
11 ಆದರೂ ಪೌಲನು ಹೇಳಿದವುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಹಡಗಿನ ನಾಯಕನೂ ಯಜಮಾನನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದವನನ್ನು ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ನಂಬಿದನು.
12 ಆ ರೇವು ಚಳಿಗಾಲವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಕೂಲ ವಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದಲೂ ಹೊರಟು ಫೊಯಿನಿಕೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಚಳಿಗಾಲವನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುವದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗ ಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಅನೇಕರು ಸಲಹೆಕೊಟ್ಟರು; ಇದು ಕ್ರೇತದ ಒಂದು ರೇವು ಆಗಿದ್ದು ಈಶಾನ್ಯ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೂ ಅಗ್ನೇಯ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೂ ಅಭಿಮುಖವಾಗಿ
13 ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಗಾಳಿಯು ಮೆಲ್ಲಗೆ ಬೀಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಉದ್ದೇಶವು ಸಾರ್ಥಕವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಕ್ರೇತಕ್ಕೆ ಸವಿಾಪವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿದರು.
14 ಆದರೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಊರಕಲೋನು ಎಂಬ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬೀಸಿತು.
15 ಆಗ ಹಡಗು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ತಾಳಲಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಅದು ನೂಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ನಾವು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಟ್ಟೆವು
16 ನಾವು ಕ್ಲೌಡವೆಂಬ ಒಂದು ದ್ವೀಪದ ಮರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿ ದ್ದದರಿಂದ ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದು ನಮಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಯಾಸವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
17 ಅದನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಿ ಸಾಧನಗಳಿಂದ ಹಡಗಿನ ಕೆಳಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಆಮೇಲೆ ಕಳ್ಳುಸುಬಿಗೆ ನಾವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡೇವೆಂದು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಹಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಸಡಿಲು ಮಾಡಿ ನೂಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದೆವು.
18 ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಹೊಯಿದಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮರುದಿನ ಅವರು ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹಗುರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ದರು;
19 ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಹಡಗಿನ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದೆವು.
20 ಅನೇಕ ದಿವಸಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯನಾಗಲಿ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ ಗಳಾಗಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸದೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಡೆದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಪಾರಾದೇವೆಂಬ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ತಪ್ಪಿಹೋಯಿತು.
21 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಬಹುಕಾಲ ಆಹಾರವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದಮೇಲೆ ಪೌಲನು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು--ಅಯ್ಯಗಳಿರಾ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳಿ ಕ್ರೇತದಿಂದ ಹೊರಡದೆ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾವು ಈ ಕಷ್ಟನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
22 ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ನೀವು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಹಡಗಿಗೆ ಹೊರತು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಾಣ ನಷ್ಟವಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
23 ನಾನು ಯಾರವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೋ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುತ್ತೇನೊ ಆ ದೇವರ ದೂತನು ಈ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತು--
24 ಪೌಲನೇ, ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ, ನೀನು ಕೈಸರನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕದ್ದು; ಇಗೋ, ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ದೇವರು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
25 ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅಯ್ಯಗಳಿರಾ, ನೀವು ಧೈರ್ಯವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಆಗುವದೆಂದು ನಾನು ದೇವರನ್ನು ನಂಬುತ್ತೇನೆ.
26 ಹೇಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನಾವು ಒಂದು ದ್ವೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಲೇಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ಅಂದನು.
27 ಆದರೆ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆದ್ರಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ತ ಇತ್ತ ಬಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ನಂತರ ಸುಮಾರು ಮಧ್ಯರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವಿಕರು ಒಂದು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದೆವೆಂದು ನೆನಸಿದರು;
28 ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅಳತೆಯ ಗುಂಡನ್ನು ಇಳಿಸಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಾರುದ್ದ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಕೊಂಡರು. ಇನ್ನೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೂರ ಹೋಗಿ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಅಳತೆಯ ಗುಂಡನ್ನು ಇಳಿಸಿ ಹದಿನೈದು ಮಾರುದ್ದವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದರು.
29 ನಾವು ಬಂಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಾಕೇವೆಂದು ಭಯ ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅವರು ಹಡಗಿನ ಹಿಂಭಾಗದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಲಂಗರು ಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಯಾವಾಗ ಬೆಳಗಾದೀತು ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈ ಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
30 ನಾವಿಕರು ಹಡಗಿನ ಮುಂಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಂಗರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂಬ ನೆವದಿಂದ ದೋಣಿ ಯನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿಸಿ ಅವರು ಹಡಗಿನಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರು:
31 ಆಗ ಪೌಲನು ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸೈನಿಕರಿಗೆ--ಇವರು ಹಡಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನೀವು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
32 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸೈನಿಕರು ದೋಣಿಯ ಹಗ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಅದು ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
33 ಬೆಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪೌಲನು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನಾಗಿ--ಏನೂ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡು ಉಪವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವದು ಇದು ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ದಿವಸ.
34 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕ್ಷೇಮಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರ ತಲೆ ಯಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಕೂದಲೂ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಹೋಗು ವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
35 ಅವನು ಹಾಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
36 ಆಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು.
37 ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ಹಡಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂರ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತಾರು ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದೆವು.
38 ಅವರು ಸಾಕಾದಷ್ಟು ತಿಂದಮೇಲೆ ಗೋದಿಯನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹಗುರ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
39 ಬೆಳಗಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ದೇಶವು ಯಾವ ದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ದಡವಿದ್ದ ಒಂದು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ನೂಕುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದೀತೆಂದು ನಾವು ಯೋಚಿಸಿದೆವು.
40 ಅವರು ಲಂಗರುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಚುಕ್ಕಾ ಣಿಗಳ ಕಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ಎತ್ತಿಕಟ್ಟಿ ಹಡಗನ್ನು ದಡಕ್ಕೆ ನಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
41 ಎರಡು ಸಮುದ್ರಗಳು ಸೇರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಆಳವಿಲ್ಲದ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹತ್ತಿಸಿದರು; ಆಗ ಮುಂಭಾಗವು ತಗಲಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಾಡದಂತೆ ನಿಂತಿತು. ಆದರೆ ಹಿಂಭಾಗವು ತೆರೆಗಳ ಹೊಡೆತದಿಂದ ಒಡೆದುಹೋಯಿತು.
42 ಸೆರೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಈಜಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾರೆಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂಬದಾಗಿ ಸೈನಿಕರು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದರು.
43 ಆದರೆ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಯು ಪೌಲನನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸ ಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಅವರ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನು ತಡೆದು ಈಜು ಬಲ್ಲವರು ಮೊದಲು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಧುಮುಕ ಬೇಕೆಂತಲೂ
44 ಉಳಿದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಹಲಿಗೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವರು ಹಡಗಿನ ತುಂಡುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತೀರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂತಲೂ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ತೀರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದರು.
1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

1 ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಪೊಲ್ಲೋಸನು ಕೊರಿಂಥದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಪೌಲನು ಮೇಲ್ಭಾ ಗದ ತೀರಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಎಫೆಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಕೆಲವು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು.
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನಂಬಿದಾಗ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದಿರೋ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನು ಇದ್ದಾ ನೆಂಬದು ನಾವು ಕೇಳಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಅಂದರು.
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 ಆಗ ಅವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಯಾವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು--ಯೋಹಾನನ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡೆವು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 ಆಗ ಪೌಲನು--ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಯೋಹಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರುವಾತ ನನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನಂಬಬೇಕೆಂದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಮಾನಸಾಂತರದ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮದಿಂದ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 ಅವರು ಆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 ಆಗ ಪೌಲನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನಿಡಲು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅವರು ಭಾಷೆಗಳನ್ನಾಡಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 ಅವರು ಸುಮಾರು ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಗಂಡಸರು.
And all the men were about twelve.
8 ಪೌಲನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿಷಯ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಜನರನ್ನು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು.
And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
9 ಕೆಲವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ನಂಬದೆ ಸಮೂಹದ ಮುಂದೆ ಆ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ಮಾಡಿ ತುರನ್ನನ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ವಾದಿಸಿದನು.
But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
10 ಇದು ಎರಡು ವರುಷಗಳವರೆಗೂ ನಡೆದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಸ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಗ್ರೀಕರೂ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
11 ದೇವರು ಪೌಲನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ವಿಶೇಷವಾದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದದರಿಂದ
And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
12 ಜನರು ಅವನ ಮೈಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಕೈವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಡಿವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಂದು ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕಲು ಅವರವರ ರೋಗಗಳು ವಾಸಿಯಾದವು, ದೆವ್ವಗಳೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದವು.
So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
13 ಆಗ ದೆವ್ವ ಬಿಡಿಸುವವರಾಗಿ ದೇಶಸಂಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ದುರಾತ್ಮ ಹಿಡಿದವ ರಿಗೆ--ಪೌಲನು ಸಾರುವ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಆಣೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಡಗಿದರು.
Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
14 ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯನಾದ ಸ್ಕೇವನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನ ಏಳು ಮಂದಿ ಕುಮಾರರು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
15 ಆದರೆ ದುರಾತ್ಮವು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ನಾನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು, ಪೌಲನನ್ನೂ ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ನೀವಾದರೆ ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿತು.
And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
16 ದುರಾತ್ಮಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾರಿಬಿದ್ದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಬಲಾತ್ಕರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡು ಆ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಓಡಿ ಹೋದರು.
And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
17 ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಯು ಎಫೆಸದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಗ್ರೀಕರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಭಯಹಿಡಿಯಿತು. ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸು ವಿನ ಹೆಸರು ಘನಹೊಂದಿತು.
And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
18 ನಂಬಿದ ಅನೇಕರು ಬಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ ದರು.
And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.
19 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾಟ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದ ವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಸಹ ಬಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ತಂದು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸುಟ್ಟುಬಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವು ಗಳ ಕ್ರಯವನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಮಾಡಿ ಐವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಕೊಂಡರು.
Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.
20 ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾ ಪ್ರಬಲ ವಾಯಿತು.
So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
21 ಇವುಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೌಲನು ತಾನು ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಅಖಾಯವನ್ನೂ ಹಾಯ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆತ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ--ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದಮೇಲೆ ನಾನು ರೋಮ್‌ ವನ್ನು ಸಹ ನೋಡಲೇಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.
22 ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರಾದ ತಿಮೊಥೆಯನನ್ನೂ ಎರಸ್ತನನ್ನೂ ಮಕೆ ದೋನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ತಾನಾದರೋ ಆಸ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾಲ ನಿಂತನು.
So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.
23 ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಬಹಳ ಗಲಭೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿತು.
And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.
24 ಹೇಗಂದರೆ ದೇಮೇತ್ರಿಯನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಕ್ಕಸಾಲಿಗನು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯಿಂದ ಡಯಾನಿಗೆ ಗುಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಆ ಕಸಬಿನವರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಲಾಭವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
25 ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಆ ಕಸಬಿನ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದ ಕೆಲಸದವರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಅಯ್ಯ ಗಳಿರಾ, ಈ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ಉಂಟಾ ಗುತ್ತದೆಂದು ನೀವು ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ.
Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.
26 ಆದರೆ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳು ದೇವರುಗಳಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಈ ಪೌಲನು ಹೇಳಿ ಎಫೆಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಆಸ್ಯ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಬಹಳ ಜನರನ್ನು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಸಿ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನೋಡುತ್ತೀರಿ
Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:
27 ಇದರಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಈ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಾಯ ಬರುವ ಹಾಗಿರುವದಲ್ಲದೆ ಡಯಾನಿ ಮಹಾದೇವಿಯ ಗುಡಿಯು ಗಣನೆಗೆ ಬಾರದೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಸ್ಯಸೀಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಲೊಕವು ಪೂಜಿಸುವ ಈಕೆಯ ವೈಭವವು ನಾಶವಾಗ ತಕ್ಕದೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
28 ಅವರು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ರೌದ್ರವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ-- ಎಫೆಸದವರ ಡಯಾನಿಯು ದೊಡ್ಡವಳು ಎಂದು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
29 ಆಗ ಊರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಯಾಯಿತು; ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌಲನಿಗೆ ಜೊತೆಯವರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯದ ಗಾಯನನ್ನು ಅರಿಸ್ತಾರ್ಕನನ್ನು ಜನರು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ನಾಟಕ ಶಾಲೆಯೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿದರು.
And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.
30 ಪೌಲನು ಜನರೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗ ಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.
31 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಸ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರಮುಖರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನು ನಾಟಕ ಶಾಲೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಪಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳ ಬಾರದೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.
32 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕೆಲವರು ಒಂದು ಬಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಕೆಲವರು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಬಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಸಭೆಯು ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಾವು ಕೂಡಿಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣವು ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.
33 ಅವರು ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂದ್ರನನ್ನು ಸಮೂಹ ದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದಾಗ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ತಂದರು. ಆಗ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂದ್ರನು ಕೈಸನ್ನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿವಾದ ಮಾಡ ಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದನು.
And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.
34 ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ--ಎಫೆಸದವರ ಡಯಾನಿ ದೊಡ್ಡವಳು ಎಂದು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಎರಡು ಘಂಟೆ ಹೊತ್ತು ಕೂಗಿದರು.
But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.
35 ಆಗ ಪುರಸಭೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯು ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಾನಪಡಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಎಫೆಸದ ಜನರೇ, ಎಫೆಸದವರ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಮಹಾದೇವತೆಯಾದ ಡಯಾನಿಯನ್ನೂ ಬೃಹಸ್ಪತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನೂ ಹೇಗೆ ಆರಾದ್ಧಿಸುವದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯಾವನು?
And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?
36 ಈ ಸಂಗತಿ ಅಲ್ಲವೆನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರಿಂದಲೂ ಆಗದಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಶಾಂತಿ ಯಿಂದಿರಬೇಕು; ದುಡುಕಿನಿಂದ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು.
Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.
37 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನೀವು ತಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳನ್ನು ದೋಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರೂ ಅಲ್ಲ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸುವವರೂ ಅಲ್ಲ.
For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.
38 ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ದೇಮೇತ್ರಿಯನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿರುವ ಕಸಬಿನವರಿಗೂ ಯಾವನ ಮೇಲಾದರೂ ವ್ಯವಹಾರವಿದ್ದರೆ ಕಾನೂನು ಇದೆ, ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಒಬ್ಬರ ಮೇಲೊಬ್ಬರು ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ವಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ.
Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.
39 ನೀವು ಬೇರೆ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಏನಾ ದರೂ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದು ನೆರೆದು ಬಂದ ನ್ಯಾಯಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು.
But if ye inquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.
40 ಯಾಕಂ ದರೆ ಈ ಜನಸಂದಣಿಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಹೇಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವ ಕಾರಣವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನದ ದಂಗೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ
For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.
41 ಅವನು ಆ ಗುಂಪನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.
