ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲ ರಾದ ಬಾರ್ನಬ ಪೌಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರ ಕೊಂಡು ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿನೊಳಗೆ ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ನುಗ್ಗಿ--

ಆದರೆ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಜನಸಮೂಹದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇದವುಂಟಾಗಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಪಕ್ಷದವರಾದರು. ಕೆಲವರು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರ ಪಕ್ಷದವರಾದರು.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು ಆ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು--ಕೊಲ್ಲು ವದಕ್ಕೂ ಬದುಕಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ದೇವರೋ? ಇವನ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗವನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ಇವನು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧ ವಾಗಿ ಜಗಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಹುಡುಕುವದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನೋಡಿ ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದನು.

ಆಗ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲ್ಯಾಕೀಮನೂ ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶೆಬ್ನನೂ ಸಂಪ್ರತಿಯವನಾದ ಆಸಾಫನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ನಾನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ನನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯನ್ನೂ ಹರಿದು ನನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಗಡ್ಡದ ಕೂದಲನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತು ಭ್ರಮೆಗೊಂಡು ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ದೆನು.

ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿದ ಅರಸನಾದರೂ ಅವನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ಹೆದರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ತಮ್ಮವಸ್ತ್ರ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಸಹೋದರಿಯಾಗಿ ರುವ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಸಂಚರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರಂತೆಯೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಸಹೋದರ ರಂತೆಯೂ ಕೇಫನಂತೆಯೂ ನಮಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ವಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
