2 Samuel 19:24
ಸೌಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನು ಅರಸ ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಂದನು. ಅರಸನು ಹೋದಂದಿನಿಂದ ಅವನು ಮರಳಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಬರುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ, ತನ್ನ ಗಡ್ಡವನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವ ನನ್ನು--ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಕುಮಾರನು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾ ನೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಚೀಬನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ--ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆಯವರು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತಿರಿಗಿಕೊಡುವರೆಂದು ಅಂದನು.
