ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ, ಕರ್ತನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೋಷೀಯನು ಕೆಡವಿಹಾಕಿ ಬೇತೇಲಿ ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ,

ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೀರಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವವರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಯೆಹೂ ದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಯೆಹೂದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾವಿಾನ್ ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮ್ ಮನಸ್ಸೆ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೀರಿಸುವ ಪರ್ಯಂತರ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೆಡವಿಹಾಕಿದರು. ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ತ್ಯಗ ಳಿಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೂ ತಿರಿಗಿಹೋದರು.

ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದೂತರು ಅರಸನ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರ ಕೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅರಸನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋಗಿ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮ್ ಇಸಾಕ್ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿರಿ. ಆಗ ಆತನೂ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಕೈಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉಳಿದವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗುವನು.

ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಟುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಮೇಘ ಮಂತ್ರ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸರ್ಪಮಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಯಕ್ಷಿಣಿ ಗಾರರ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಮಂತ್ರಜ್ಞರ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ವಿಚಾರಿ ಸಿದನು; ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲು ಆತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಗುಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅಯುಕ್ತ ವಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಬರುವ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳು ಮೊದಲು ಗೊಂಡು ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ವರೆಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಗೆ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.

ಅಹಾಬನ ಮನೆಯವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದನು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು.

ಅಹಾಬನು ತೋಪನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆಯೆ ಅಹಾಬನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ತನಗೆ ಮುಂಚಿನ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತ ಅಧಿಕ ವಾಗಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನಮಾಡಿದನು.

ಅವನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಆಗುವದು ಅಂದನು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಒಂದು ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಲೇವಿಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲದ ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಜನರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿ ದನು.
