ಲೇವಿಯರು ಪಸ್ಕದ ಕುರಿಯನ್ನು ವಧಿಸಿದ ತರು ವಾಯ ಯಾಜಕರು ಅವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಿದರು; ಆದರೆ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಚರ್ಮ ವನ್ನು ಸುಲಿದರು;

ಯಾಜಕರು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರಾಗಿದ್ದು ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸುಲಿಯಲಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸವು ತೀರುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಯಾಜಕರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಲೇವಿ ಯರಾದ ಅವರ ಸಹೋದರರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯಾಜಕರಿಗಿಂತ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಯಥಾರ್ಥ ಹೃದಯವುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಯಾಜಕಕಾಂಡ 1:5
ಅವನು ಆ ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ವಧಿಸಬೇಕು; ಆಗ ಆರೋನನ ಕುಮಾರರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರು ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ತಂದು ಸಭೆಯ ಗುಡಾರದ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಅರಣ್ಯಕಾಂಡ 18:3
ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಗುಡಾರವೆಲ್ಲಾದರ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕಾಪಾಡಬೇಕು. ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳಿಗೂ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಕ್ಕೂ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವರೂ ನೀವೂ ಸಾಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರು ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಬಾರದು.
ಅರಣ್ಯಕಾಂಡ 18:7
ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕುಮಾರರ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಾಜಕತ್ವವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಬೇಕು. ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪರದೆಯ ಒಳಗೆ ನೀವು ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಾಜಕತ್ವವನ್ನು ದಾನದ ಸೇವೆಯಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಪರಕೀಯನು ಸವಿಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಸಾಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಹೋರಿ ಗಳನ್ನು ವಧಿಸಿದಾಗ ಯಾಜಕರು ಅವುಗಳ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿಮಿಕಿಸಿದರು; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವರು ಟಗರುಗಳನ್ನು ವಧಿಸಿ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿಮಿಕಿಸಿದರು; ಅವರು ಕುರಿಮರಿ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಧಿಸಿ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿಮಿಕಿಸಿದರು.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದ ಮೋಶೆ ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಹಾಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಯಾಜಕರು ಲೇವಿಯರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಚಿಮುಕಿಸಿದರು.
