ನೀವಾದರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದರೂ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಟ್ಟ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಟ್ಟಳೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ

ಈಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನಮಾಡಿದ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದವೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ತನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ವಿಾರಿ, ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಈ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಕರ್ತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಕಲ ಕೇಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವನು.

ಆದದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವ ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ನನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವರೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ನನಗೆ ಅದು ದೂರವಾಗಿರಲಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸು ವವರನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುವೆನು; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸು ವವರನ್ನು ನಾನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವೆನು.

ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಮುದುಕನಾದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಅವನ ಪತ್ನಿಯರು ಅನ್ಯದೇವರುಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಹೃದಯದ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಸಂಗಡ ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
