ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಂಡನು.

ಆಗ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಹನಾನೀಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೇಹೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೋದನು. ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ ಅವನು--ದುಷ್ಟ ನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಕೊಡುವವನಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ಹಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಬಹುದೋ? ಆದ ಕಾರಣ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ರೌದ್ರ ಉಂಟು.

ಅಹಾಬನ ಮನೆಯವರು ನಡೆದ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸುಗಳ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದನು. ಅಹಾಬನ ಮಗಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯಾಗಿದ್ದಳು. ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು,

ನೀವು ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಸಮವಲ್ಲದ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಹೊರಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅನೀತಿಯ ಕೂಡ ನೀತಿಗೆ ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆ ಏನು? ಕತ್ತಲೆಯ ಕೂಡ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಐಕ್ಯವೇನು?
