ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವನು; ನೀನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುವಿ; ಬೇರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಮಾರ್ಪಡುವಿ.

ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವನು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು; ಆಗ ದೇವರ ಆತ್ಮ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದನು; ಅವನು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿಗೆ ಸೇರುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದನು.

ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು. ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡು ವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಾಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನ ಕೈಗೆ ಮೆಸೊ ಪೊತಾಮ್ಯದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಕೂಷನ್ರಿಷಾತಮನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಅವನ ಕೈ ಕೂಷನ್ರಿಷಾತಯಿಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಲವಾಯಿತು.

ಆಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಮೇಕೆ ಮರಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಸೀಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಇರುವ ಕೊಂಬನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲೇ ಕರ್ತನ ಆತ್ಮನು ದಾವೀದನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದನು. ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಎದ್ದು ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.

ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ--ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಕರ್ತನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಮತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೆವ್ವಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೇ ಎಂದು ಬಹಳ ಜನರು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವರು.
