ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಹೋರಿ ಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ--ಓ ಬಾಳನೇ, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೇಳೆಂದು ಉದಯದಿಂದ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಬಾಳನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ಶಬ್ದವಾಗಲಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವವನಾಗಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕುಣಿದಾಡಿದರು.
