ಆದರೆ ಆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕೆಲವರು ಈವರೆಗೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ರೂಢಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ತಾವು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಂದು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬಲಹೀನವಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ.

Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
